4.0 out of 5 stars Glaring error, November 21, 2010
This review is from: The Best of Wedding Photography (Paperback)
There's lots of good info here, but on page 46 the author relates that a friend lost many shots from a wedding because an assistant reformatted CF cards without saving the files, and that thus the only photos that remained were those on the cards left in the cameras. It is REALLY widely known that card formatting doesn't wipe the data from the cards. There's plenty of software, eg. that which comes *with* SanDisk cards that'll retrieve most of the files from a formatted card so long as it hasn't been re-used. Whoever this friend of the author's is, he's pretty clueless, and I'm astonished that Hurter himself didn't know this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book for a Quick Introduction To Wedding Photography, September 13, 2009
This review is from: The Best of Wedding Photography (Paperback)
This is one of the better photography books that I have read. And I have read a lot!

It is by no means and exhaustive tutorial on how to be a wedding photographer. But it will give you enough information to get you into shooting weddings and through your first few events.

This book covers a lot of ground, from photographic style to the business of photography. It is very well written and keeps your interest. I finished off most of it on a flight from LA to Chicago and I usually sleep on this flight!

It definitely helped me get through my first two weddings this year and I keep on opening it up to brush up on things and get more tips.

If you are thinking about getting into wedding photography, nothing beats experience, but this book will give you a good introduction.

RECOMMENDED!!!
