Many of the monologues herein are by playwrights of considerable reputation, such as Michael Weller, Charles Busch, Israel Horovitz, Kathleen Tolan, Stephen Adly Guirgis, and Paula Vogel. Others are by future stars, such as Winter Miller, Sheila Callaghan, Allison Moore, Sarah Ruhl, and Lisa D=Amour. Most are monologues by characters under forty, although there are a few great geezer monologues, such as the one from The Outrageous Adventures of Sheldon & Mrs. Levine. I made a conscientious effort this year to find some great monologues that will be of particular interest to teen actors, such as the ones from Jewish Girlz, Cavedweller, Common Ground, Elephant, Eloise & Ray, and Squats.
In short, this is the best darn monologue book I could put together.
