I say this is second only to The Orange Box as far as value is concerned. Maybe a tie.

I really hope Doom 1 and Doom 2 are on the disc and not download cards.

I'd almost give this the nod over Orange Box since it's going to be in 3D. It might be on my very short list of Day 1 purchases this year with Borderlands 2 and Halo 4.

Agreed. I'm getting sick of game companies cheaping out and making so much DLC that takes up space on my HDD because it's cheaper than producing a disc. Even with the extras, $40 is a lot for an older game unless it carries discs for 1 & 2. If those confirm to be on discs, I expect pre-orders to really shoot up. I was totally happy with the DMC collection (even though it lacked 4) mostly due to it being a physical game. Besides, when you buy a new console, who wants to keep re-downloading the game again. Better idea, make games like some DVD/Blu-Ray sets and include a digital download copy code for the same game ^^

Damn you guys for getting it for $10! Even at $40, it's a pretty good deal.

Doom and Doom 2 shouldn't take up that much space, I'm sure they could get all three plus the expansions on one disc. With the Orange Box they fit Half-Life 2, Portal, TF2, and two episodes for HL2. So the episodes would be like the expansions for Doom 3, Doom 3 would be like HL2, and Doom 1 and 2 would be like Portal and TF2. Portal and TF2 also had better graphics than the first two Dooms, so there is no way they don't have the ability to fit it all onto the disc. But maybe they are lazy who knows.

Not at all is this anything like the orange box.
You can buy doom 1-3 or less than $4 each.
Orange box had multiple games not a trilogy of one game.
And orange box has multiplayer games, doom doesn't.

I got Orange Box for $20 and will wait to get this for the same. Still, what a great idea to re-release this!

I don't know. The Orange Box is fantastic. Portal was great, and Half-Life 2 and its episodes are among my favorites. Fantastic collection. Hard to beat.

I remember Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 came out at pretty much the same time, both to high expectations.
