Customer Reviews

The quality of the sound is quite good .

This filled that need perfectly, I plugged it into the USB port in the center console along with the aux in jack, and it is out of sight, it works perfectly!

The only issue I see is that having more than one device paired at a time can cause some issues with making the initial Bluetooth connection.

It works pretty closely to how it is described.

Be warned that it is POWERED by the USB and outputs the sound through the AUX so be aware of that when using this product.

I expected this when I ordered it for use in my car with an aftermarket head unit and it works perfectly for me.

I would give it 5 stars but the aux cord is cheap quality. It works but it looks fragile. Also the USB itself is fragile construction as well. I think as long as you don't remove and plug it in and take it out repeatedly it should be okay. But for the price and its conveniently small size you can't beat this deal. I would definitely recommend this product to somebody because of how inexpensive it is.

I had relatively high hopes for this one, but was somewhat let down. I have a different Bluetooth audio receiver that has problems resuming after a pause, and was hoping to use this in its place. It DOES correct the resume-after-pause issue, but adds a new one: When this device powers on, it connects to my iPod, but almost immediately disconnects again. I have to go in to Bluetooth settings and connect manually. Once I do this, the connection is solid and it resumes after pause with no problems.

Since this is part of my car setup, I was hoping for something that would connect automatically every time I start the engine. Sadly, this device doesn't let me do that. I'd much rather have a device that connects automatically and has pause issues than one that I have to manually connect to every time. I'm probably going to connect this one to a pair of computer speakers in the bedroom, so I guess it's not a total waste. I guess.

Interestingly, this device makes all the same "sound effects" as my other device - upon powerup, connection made, and connection lost. The two pieces are totally different form factors, but they pretty clearly have the same "guts". Kinda cool.

Update 07-13-13:
I ended up connecting this to the stereo in the living room instead of to a set of speakers in the bedroom. I leave it plugged in and powered on all the time, and can connect to it at any time (manually, of course). Sounds great, and it's nice to be able to control the music from across the room - and still be able to read e-books on the iPod at the same time. The LED on this is BRIGHT, and flashes constantly. Not so nice for bedroom use. You could easily cover it up with a bit of electrical tape, but I decided I'd prefer it in the living room anyways.

I looked into all the different bluetooth auxiliary devices for the car and home stereo and this one is perfect for my needs. I wanted to add bluetooth streaming to my 2010 Prius. It has hands free calling, just not A2DP streaming.

I plugged the thumbdrive-like device in the usb adapter for power, and the auxiliary cord into my aux-input. Searched for it on my phone and it connected with no issue. Music came through great inside the car. Walking around the car the connection never dropped, but I didn't stroll too far away. The sound quality was bluetooth quality, same quality from stereos with the bluetooth built into the receiver. The best part is that the dongle will automatically connect to your phone (or the other way around, phone-to-bluetooth A2DP) when you turn the car on.

I literally received the dongle this morning and have only had the single day to set it up and test it out. If my thoughts or opinions change, I will update my review. Right now, it is a fantastic buy for someone looking at add the ease of A2DP to their auxiliary input enabled device and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

I was hoping to use this in my car as a Bluetooth audio connection that would automatically work when I started the car. It did start when I started the car but dropped the connection almost immediately. Secondly their was a very noticeable hiss in the audio. I tried using another cable and it still had the hiss. I then tried another device altogether and the hiss was gone.

I'll say again: for the money, I can't complain.

What this little guy does is provide proof of concept for me. I wasn't sure that something like this would suit the need that I had for it. The good news is it mostly does, the bad news is that it somewhat doesn't.

Firstly, it works, it makes available via bluetooth my speakers that are across the room, so that I can still listen to whatever it is that I want to listen to and still reply to text messages and whatnot.

The downside is that it likes to drop connection after between 30 and 45 minutes, but not all of the time. That is my chief complaint, I can't always make it through an entire mp3 album without the connection sliding back to my phone. Granted, it's not a big deal to reconnect to the speakers, but I don't think it should be dropping the connection in the first place.

Another downside may be just my inexperience with bluetooth devices. I know my headsets don't have this problem. After a few minutes of inactivity the adapter shuts down, the only way to bring it back is to unplug it and plug it back in and then I have to go through the reconnection process (putting in the 0000 code) every time I want to use it.

It's fine it works. But you probably get what you pay for.
