We've been waiting for this for years. The discography (sort of) for the greatest drum machine grindcore band on the planet. This collection contains all the old vinyl splits and whatnot except for PCP Torpedo (being reissued soon on Hydrahead) and let me tell you, 99% of this is the best material ANb has released. (This is also a great place for the uninitiated to start appreciating this band.) I still love them to death, but their newer Frozen Corpse-era material is more thrash-influenced and metallic; less immediate, and more "traditionally" structured (although still inhuman and bizarre by most standards). For those who haven't heard this band, they basically sound like SCUM-era Napalm Death, only twice as fast and with machine guns for drums. Seriously the drum programming on this stuff is over the top. Much of it would be humanly impossible to play and often, no measure will ever repeat itself in a song. They emphasize not only ridiculous speed but mindblowing complexity (with the guitars as well as the machine). The songs are obviously all incredibly short (they've recorded and released over 320 songs so far.) Still, they mantain excellent songwriting skills and catchiness for a band of this genre. I highly recommend this band and I'm often amazed how many people into metal, grindcore, and HARDcore are unfamiliar with them. They are truly revolutionary, and far more visceral and brutal than most mainstream metal bands. I would definitely place them in the top of the modern grindcore heap (along with the Kill, Discordance Axis and others)Featuring former and/or current members of Isis, Pig Destroyer, AxCx, Japanese Torture Comedy Hour, Enemy Soil, Skinless and others. For pure aggression and speed, go for Bestial Devastation. For absurdity and chaos, go for Altered States of America. For complexity and progressiveness, go for the Poacher Diaries, and for shredding, thrashy grind, go for Frozen Corpse Stuffed with Dope. This band manages to sound slightly different every time out but always immediately recognizable (unlike most grindcore bands unfortunately) fans of ANb should also check out Pantalones Abajo Marinero, Dataclast, F**K...I'm Dead, AssCavern, The Kill, Discordance Axis, Bollock Swine, Blockheads, Pig Destroyer, Ganglia, Gigantic Brain, Jet Jaguar KR-3 Kill Spree, Genghis Tron, twodeadsluts onegoodf**k, Extreme Smoke, Alien Crucifixion, Squash Bowels, Neurovisceral Exhumation, GrindCorps., Nee, WORLD, Nikudorei, Elf Smasher, Excrementory Grindf**kers, Captain Cleanoff, Ariel Sharon's Head in an Industrial Press, Intestinal Disgorge, Shinu Mazafakingu Ujimushi, Final Exit, Sissy Spacek, Senseless Apocalypse, MINCH and tons of others I'm sure I am forgetting...

Agoraphobic Nosebleed never ceases to amaze me. I would say that they are Metal geniuses, prodigys even. Nothing is more joyous and relaxing then listening to Agoraphobic Nosebleed for hours on end over and over again till I start to bleed out of ever orifice on my body, which makes me come back begging for more. hmmm life is good. The booklet if full of hilarious pictures too.

Eight Girls Instead Of Nine,

This is the first full length ANb CD I ever purchased, after finally warming upto their tracks on 'The Poacher Diaries' (I was way too into Converge to give them a chance then). And I must say this is by far the most brutal ear drum assaulting music I have ever heard. Uncomprehensible at times and occasionally just ridiculously hilarious, overall a stunning release from the most originally insane outfit in Grind history. Not to mention the artwork/Song titles which are some of the funniest most offensive things I have ever layed eyes on. The music is a monument of their earliest works; Violent Riffs and Bullet paced drum beats laced over acid induced screeching and roaring. Not best swallowed whole, this album is one to grow on. Although I felt the brilliant assault all the way through. In my opinion, the Covers are the very best this release has to offer; Such as 'Hungry Child', 'I'd Rather Be Sleeping', & 'Forgotten In Space'.But the original stuff holds it's own on many disturbing yet enjoyable levels. The Best tracks are 'Hessian Bodyfarm', 'Lithium Daydream', 'Kool-Aid Feedbag', 'Eight Girls Instead pf Nine' (Possibly the best song title ever written), & 'My Life Is A Money Pit'. But there are far too many more to choose from. Overall a great introduction to the craziest Hardcore out there.
