3.0 out of 5 stars Don't pay a lot for this hammer!, January 8, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Beta 1370 300 105mm Engineers Hammer with Wooden Shaft
I bought this hammer because I needed a small, general purpose hammer...and also because of the sporty orange paint on the handle. It is an ideal size for small projects and it looks like it will hold up okay owing to the circular steel collar driven into the top of the handle (should hold better than a plain steel wedge). Though the hammer meets my needs and looks like it will survive for awhile under light duty use, I'm giving it three stars because it has some finish issues. First, the orange paint is not very thick. I can't imagine that the paint will last more than a season or two. Second, and more importantly the bevels around the face and at the tail end are executed very poorly. They are uneven and at different angles. I don't think this sloppiness will affect my use of the hammer, but a precision instrument this is not.
