I bought this grill to make lefse but so far I have only used it for tortillas and pancakes. It works wonderfully and cooks 4 -5 pancakes or tortillas at a time. I can cook them in less than half the time it took using a skillet on the stove. It has been easy to clean too. Now I all I need to do is find the time to make lefse!

If you make lefse, this is the grill to use. I should actually just stop my review right here, because there's really nothing more to say. I will mention that there is now a teflon grill out, but the old fashioned Norwegian in me can't imagine how you would get perfect brown spotting on your lefse with teflon. If you have made your dough properly, sticking is not usually a problem. Its loaded with butter!! The controls are easy to use, and out of the way. Customer service with this company is great. My lefse grill is holding up after 20 years, but my mom did need some work done on hers and they are communicative and helpful. Fixed it right up! Don't be afraid, this is not rocket science. Trust me, if I can do it, you can do it. Order one today!

My Grandmother gave me her Lefse grill to carry on the family tradition. Just before Christmas, I took the grill out and discovered that two of the three legs were broken. Bethany Housewares stuff is so well made and supported, that I just assumed that I could buy spare parts. Sure enough, you can replace all 3 legs for $7.25. I sure enjoy not having to throw this family heirloom out just because two small pieces of bakelite failed after several decades of trusty service. Outstanding.

I was hesitant to buy the aluminum version. After having used it several times: Foods do not stick like I thought they might; it is very easy to clean; the aluminum is thick and very well made; the entire unit heats evenly. That PLUS it is made in the USA and I like the idea of supporting American businesses that operate solely in the USA. This is a fantastic unit and beats the other more cheaply made foreign versions to the ground. This will become an heirloom.

I use this grill for making Lefsa (Norwegian tortillas). I have been making lefsa for many years and without this grill the task would be much, much, more difficult. After the lefsa is grilled we put butter and sugar on it, roll it up, and YUM! YUM! Lefsa has been a part of my life for the past 70 years and the holidays are not complete without it
as part of our meals. I have carried on this tradition so that my family will always have it as part of their lives as I did.

Because of the even heat, the Lefse Grill works very well in making multiple pancakes at a time. My wife can squeeze 4 medium pancakes on it simultaneously. This is not possible to do on the range without turning on multiple burners.

Also works great as a large crepe maker.

I mainly purchased to use this as a Dosa preperation tool. Works very well. I had previously owned a non-stick version. However, the non-stick coating was coming off. So, I thought I would try without non-stick coating. Working out great. It needs to be worked through to be not sticking to the pan...

Large electric grittle heats the thick aluminum construction evenly and quickly. Can be used to cook lefse to meats with its very accurate temperature control.

Now, to my knowledge there is not a better lefse griddle out there, but to be honest I am not overly impressed with mine (sadly). I've used it to make pancakes a few times and spent an afternoon this fall making lefse with my family, and it consistently has the same issue: the griddle works great while the heating element is engaged and bringing the surface up to the desired temperature, but as soon as it reaches the temp you have it set at the heating element disengages and then the surface doesn't hold the heat enough to continue cooking, so it slows markedly until it engages again. I don't know if others have had this trouble or if mine is worse than average, but I was kind of disappointed in it's irregular performance.
