Book Description

April 3, 2012 Scarlet Deception (Book 3)
Only New York Times bestseller Christina Dodd could bring you this series about three brothers, tormented by their pasts...

At nineteen, Noah Di Luca was Bella Terra's golden boy, handsome, confident, and untouched by the shadows that tormented his brothers...or so it seems. Driven by ambition, beautiful teenage Penelope Alonso fought her way out of the ghettos. During one hot summer, they came together in the sweetness of first love...until his past reared its ugly head and Noah walked away.

Nine years later, Penelope returns, never imagining she'd see Noah or that one glance would wake their fiery passion. As peril builds around them, Penelope has one choice: to survive, she must once again trust the man who betrayed her.

Even with terror stalking through Bella Terra's streets, love may be the most dangerous choice of all.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

Only beloved author Christina Dodd could bring you the Bella Terra Deception series with the three handsome, sexy, tormented Di Luca brothers who seek justice, and sometimes, find love...

Noah's relationships were joyous, short-term and trivial. He fell a little in love with each woman. They fell a little in love with him. But his lovers knew the score, and they were never surprised when he kissed them good-bye.
He had broken his own rule only once.
Now, as he watched his brothers, he envied them fiercely. They had what he would never have.
Eli, always solemn, always mature, laughed and tried to wrap Chloë in his sweaty, dirty arms while she scampered away screaming, "No! No! You're yucky!" But she didn't scamper very fast.
Rafe willingly made a fool of himself by flexing his muscles while Brooke made cooing noises and ran her fingertips over his pecs.
Nonna laughed aloud at their antics.
And an image rose unbidden in Noah's brain. Penelope Alonso, her heavy, long, black hair hanging in a braid down her back, her exotic brown eyes peeking from beneath the sweep of long, thick, dark lashes, her full lips smiling as she watched him make a fool of himself ... for her ...
He told himself it wasn't surprising he had broken his rule for Penelope. He had been almost twenty, and still grieving over his ruined future and the inevitable loss of his own life.
More important, she had been everything he'd ever wanted: tough, proud, joyous, ambitious, hard-working, smart and brash. He supposed she hadn't been beautiful; a little short, very curvy, a quarter white, a quarter Hispanic, and half something else ... she didn't know who her father was. Not that she'd cared. Nor had Noah. Because he'd seen her, and he'd loved her, and she'd loved him back. At the end of that summer, he'd realized what a bastard he'd been, and he'd sent her away.
Noah promptly put her image out of his mind. He saw no point in remembering Penelope. She'd moved on, and he was glad. Because no woman deserved a man who kept secrets, a man who had plumbed the depths of dishonor, a man doomed to die for his misdeeds.
Thank God Penelope Alonso was the only woman who had ever tempted him, and thank God she had moved forever beyond his reach...

Readers become writers, and Christina Dodd has always been a reader. She reads everything, but because she loves humor, she likes romance best. A woman wants things like world peace, a clean house, and a deep and meaningful relationship based on mutual understanding and love. A man wants things like a Craftsman router with attachments, undisputed control of the TV remote, and a red Corvette which will miraculously make his bald spot disappear. When Christina's first daughter was born, she told her husband she was going to quit work and write a book. It was a good time to start a new career, because how much trouble could one little infant be?

Ha! It took ten years, two children and three completed manuscripts before her first novel, CANDLE IN THE WINDOW, was published to great acclaim. In the years since, she has enjoyed writing witty, emotional novels for every reader: historical romances, paranormal romances, and romantic suspense. Her stories have been translated into 25 languages, won Romance Writers of America's prestigious Golden Heart and RITA Awards and been called the year's best by Library Journal. Christina Dodd herself has been a clue in the Los Angeles Times crossword puzzle (11/18/05, # 13 Down: Romance Novelist named Christina.) Publishers Weekly praises her style that 'showcases Dodd's easy, addictive charm and steamy storytelling.'

Christina's most recent releases include:
-- LADY IN BLACK, a full-length romantic suspense, rewritten and updated for your reading pleasure,
-- WILD TEXAS ROSE, an updated Western e-novella,
-- THE SMUGGLER'S CAPTIVE BRIDE (formerly THE LADY AND THE TIGER), an updated Regency e-novella,
-- STONE ANGEL, an original Chosen Ones e-novella,
-- WILDER, the grand finale of the Chosen Ones series!

Christina Dodd is married to a man with all his hair and no Corvette, but many Craftsman tools.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful conclusion to the Di Luca boys series April 4, 2012
By Jackie
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
"Betrayal: A Bella Terra Deception Novel" is a wonderful conclusion to the Di Luca boys series. The book is filled with suspense, romance and action. For 9 years Noah Di Luca had known his life was in danger and was afraid to love and be truly happy. He did not meet his mother until his 19th summer and when he met her he discovered she was the leader of a band of international thieves. She had plans for him to take her place as the leader of the family of thieves. The girl he loved was back in Bella Terra and so was his evil mother who placed a collar around his neck set to detonate and kill him if he did not find a missing a bottle of wine containing a fortune in pink diamonds. Although Penelope Aloso was the love of Noah's life he had rejected her 9 years ago. She had returned to Bella Terra to meet the father whose identity was not revealed to her until after her mother's recent death. Penelope had moved on with her life; she tried to avoid seeing Noah because seeing him again rekindled all of her feelings for him.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Exhilarating Adventure! April 3, 2012
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Christina Dodd's Betrayal is the exciting conclusion of the "Bella Terra Deception" Trilogy.

The First Book; Secrets of Bella Terra: A Scarlet Deception Novel (EllRay Jakes)( Rafe Di Luca & Brooke Petersson's story) Second Book; Revenge at Bella Terra: A Scarlet Deception Novel(Eli Di Luca & Chloe Conte's story) .
In Betrayal, you learn about Noah Di Luca and Penelope Alonso's story

Betrayal was full of action, suspense and enough "heat" to melt the Polar Ice Caps! One of my most favorite things about Christina Dodd's writing is her wonderful way of making a reader feel a part of the story. I love losing myself in a book and Betrayal was no exception.

I have never been much for spoilers - so I will say this: Come take a sizzling ride with the Di Luca Brothers and you won't be disappointed!

The storyline makes a few too many leaps in the story. Does not stand by itself well, you need to have read the previous books first.

This was a great trilogy, full of sexy rugged MEN (My Favorite); and smart, willful women (also my favorite). It involves a great mystery that starts in the first book and is not really at full completion until the final book. I have always enjoyed Christina Dodd's writing and I was not disappointed with this trilogy. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.
