2.0 out of 5 stars Alas, the Drama
First of all, let me just say that I was LOVING this series. Until this book came out. Melinda Metz decends into completely contrived melodrama with Anthony, Rae, and Yana that would try the patience of a Mexican soap opera.

Yana gets a letter telling her dad how upset she was about some ballet thing when she was in grade school, so she just assumes that Rae sent it...

5.0 out of 5 stars Rae's personal life gets more complicated, November 18, 2001

This review is from: Betrayed (Fingerprints #5) (Paperback)
Finally Rae kissed Anthony. Finally they realize that they like eachother. THings should be going great right? Wrong. In this book Rae can't seem to get close to Anthony thanks to her ex-boyfriend Marcus. To make things more difficult, her best friend Yana, won't even speak to her anymore. For some strange reason she thinks Rae told Yana's father about the whole "ballet story" and will do anythign to get back at her. Rae's still trying to find out the thruth about her mother and why she died and the truth about Amanda Reese. And there's only one person who possibly knows the answer. But trying to talk to him is risking her life.

I thought that this was a great book in the series. It's starting to remind me of the early books in the fearless series. If you're a fan of the series I reccomend reading this book. THough it isn't as good as the last one it's still an amazing edition. I hope you enjoy it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Suspensful!!!, November 25, 2001
This review is from: Betrayed (Fingerprints #5) (Paperback)
Rae's life couldn't be more complicated! Yes, she has finally kissed Anthony but when Anthony sees Marcus giving her a present he totally misunderstood the situation and she can't get to him because her ex-boyfriend Marcus seems to always be in the way! This part just really fustrated me very much! I was expecting Rae and Athony's relationship to blossom! Things get even more fustrating when Yana seems to have gotten into her head that Rae is the one who sent a letter to her dad about the ballet story. Rae feels all alone and it doesn't make her feel better when it seems Anthony and Yana are hiding something from her. So when she gets a chance to find out about her mother more she goes by herself. However going by herself is definitely going to be dangerous.

This book was really fast-paced and as Rae finds out about her mother, unexpected truths about the group, her mother's powers, Amanda Reese, and a lot of stuff about herself. Metz definitely thickened the plot in this story. However the Rae and Anthony dilemma is really getting to be a pain. You just can't have tooooo many misunderstandings! However besides that point this book was really great!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book, although I'm not too happy with Anthony and Yana, November 2, 2001

Although Yana's a royal you-know-what and so is Anthony, I loved this book. I own the other four books also, and I love them. My fave has to be either "Haunted" or "Secrets" so far. I have a funny feeling that "Revelations" is gonna be the best in the series, at least at the moment. "Betrayed" kept me on my toes and guessing most of the way through the book. Me and two of my friends have even started a list on who the "killer(s)" are!
This book is full of surprises, even though fans of a Rae-Anthory hook-up may end up crying and/or throwing a hissy! L8r!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book, October 22, 2001
This review is from: Betrayed (Fingerprints #5) (Paperback)
THis is a great book. What's going on between Anthony and Yana? Will Rae get back with Marcus? Is the killer/stalker finally discovered?
If I answered these crucial questions will you not buy the book? Well it will shock you and somewhat make you say awww how sweet or aww not fair! Rae is on her own this time searching for the kidnapper. She hides away in Aiden's jeep only to surprise him on the road, and Aiden reveals the truth about what really happened to her mom and who the killer really is.
IT's Rae's 16th birhtday and she dines out with her dad only to be surprised that Yana and Anhtony came. She thought they wouldn't be there because Yana was furious at her and Anthony has been avoiding her ever since the kiss. But we know that he has really been thinking about her. Makes you think about Syaoran and Sakura to all those CCS fans i know.
k well i can't explain it well. so thats it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fingerprints#5 kicks ...!, October 21, 2001
This review is from: Betrayed (Fingerprints #5) (Paperback)
The newest book in the Fingerprints series is definately an superlative one. It's called Betrayed and that's kind of how you feel when you read this book. A lot happens in this book so if you're hooked on this series don't skip this one becasue it changes your viewpoint on everything Yana, Rae, and Anthony have gone through.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love the fingerprints series and this book rocks!!!!!!!, October 21, 2001

I really enjoyed reading this story. I am absolutely in love with the chemistry between Anthony and Rae. And you get to experience the love that they have for one another and the doubts as well. The fear that Rae and Anthony both share, about whether or not the other shares the same feelings, keeps you on your toes and has you screaming for more. I hope that Mrs. Metz gets these two characters together in the end, because they are electrifing and sizzling.
Mrs. Metz is a wonderful writer and has done a superb job of writing this series along with the ROSWELL HIGH series. Mrs. Metz has you hooked from the first chapter and after that there is no putting the book down. Mrs. Metz is by far my most favorite writer of all time. I highly encourage young girls, and boys as well, to read the Fingerprint series along with the ROSWELL HIGH series. The ability that Mrs. Metz has to blend romance with mystery and danger is amazing. I wish Mrs. Metz nothing but blessings and many more wonderful books to come.
God bless,
Ethel Putnam

5.0 out of 5 stars The thrilling fifth book in the Fingerprints series., October 17, 2001
This review is from: Betrayed (Fingerprints #5) (Paperback)
Rae is trying to figure out exactly what her relationship is with Anthony. It isn't helping that her friend Yana is refusing to talk to her, insisting Rae sent a letter to Yana's father, insisting that he be nicer to his only child. She thinks she still has Anthony to depend on, but he and Yana seem to be hiding something. Rae's on her own, and the person who's after her may strike again. Rae decides she's not going to let that happen. Instead, she's going to find her stalker, and take care of him or her. And in the process, she finds out unexpected truths about the group, the deaths of her mother and Amanda Reese, and the origins of her mother's powers, and her own. All fans of the Fingerprints series should read this book, as there are a lot of revelations and surprises in it.

4.0 out of 5 stars What Should Rae Do Now?, July 30, 2003

(VINE VOICE)
This review is from: Betrayed (Fingerprints #5) (Paperback)
Rae just had the most amazing kiss of her life - from Anthony, the guy who always treated her like nothing more than a friend. However, he did just save her life from the kidnappers who had snatched her and Yana so maybe he didn't really mean it? After all, it seems that Rae is always causing Anthony trouble and he spends a lot of time bailing her out, but he seemed to really care about her. Rae knows that Anthony regrets the kiss when he totally keeps his distance from her, which sucks, because she really needs his help right now. She knows that guy who kidnapped her has been watching her, taking pictures of her, and she had even talked to him once! Rae can't even turn to Yana for help because Yana thinks that Rae betrayed a confidence and that Rae can't be trusted. She has never felt so alone...

Anthony knows that girls like Rae don't go out with guys like him. They go out with guys like Marcus, gorgeous, rich, perfect. He is really into Rae, but doesn't think he has a chance, so he takes Yana up on her offer and soon finds himself spending most of his time with her. When he isn't sucking face with Yana, he feels guilty about Rae, but doesn't know what he can do for her. Rae turns to Jesse, the boy she rescued from kidnapping in book #2 for help and drags him down to the Wilton Community Center to try and find out more about its secrets. She discovers a secret experimental lab in the basement and knows that the guy, Aiden Matthews, that she met there earlier knows a lot more than he is telling. But when Jesse is hit with a tranq dart, she knows that she cannot keep putting her friends in danger, even if it means trying to find out the rest of her mother's secrets on her own with a killer chasing after her...

This is fifth book in the Fingerprints series and takes place right after that stunning kiss at the end of the fourth book. The book totally keeps you going on the story and you really want to know what is going to happen with Rae's mother and with Rae and Anthony. If you haven't read all of the other books, though, it may not make a lot of sense to you. I highly recommend reading the other books in the series first and be prepared to read the ones after this one too because you'll never know what is going to happen otherwise!

For all this time,Rae has been struggling a secret battle -- besides for her ability to read fingerprints and know the thoughts of the person who left it behind, she has to deal with the shocking truth about her mother's past, and the dangers it may mean for herself.
