This is a very informative book for any palm enthusiast. All the important information (scientific and common names, height, growth rate, origin, & USDA hardiness zone) is above the wonderful color photographs of each palm, followed by a more detailed description below. This reference is a must have for any horticulture professional.

Betrock's Landscape Palms is just what I needed. I live in Miami and my yard already has an assortment of palms. I love palms and wanted to add more and different palms to my landscape. Without overwhelming me with every palm on earth, this book gave me a good selection of palms with needed information to make the right choice. Easy to ready and plenty of pictures I highly recommend it if you are interested in palms for any reason.

I bought this book a few years ago for my parents' second home in Panama, so we could identify and choose the right palms we wanted for landscaping their new home. It's been a great resource and for palms, I haven't found others that compare. I like the great layout/format of each page with its simplicity, all the necessary information provided for choosing the right palm, and the photos. (Be sure to look inside) It gives the description and habits of each palm, growing conditions and tolerances, problems to be aware of, and other helpful tips with great photos to identify just the right palm for the right location. Based on the information given we chose 6 or more of these palms that fit the location on the property for the needs and aesthetics we wanted... lining the driveway, camouflaging unsightly views of neighboring properties, views from the house, and specimens to highlight in parts of the yard. (I'm back to buy another great tropical plant guide as a gift for our tropical nursery friend, but may buy this one as a gift too.)

This was a great book, except for that it arrived damaged. The book was packaged poorly, and arrived with multiple indentations all over the cover. I did email the seller with my complaints and received no correspondence back.
