Book Description

BETROTHED is Book #6 in the Bestselling series THE VAMPIRE JOURNALS. The series begins with TURNED (Book #1), which is now a free download!

In BETROTHED (Book #6 in the Vampire Journals), Caitlin and Caleb find themselves, once again, back in time—this time, in the London of 1599.

London in 1599 is a wild place, filled with paradoxes: while on the one hand it is an incredibly enlightened, sophisticated time, breeding playwrights like Shakespeare, on the other, it is also barbaric and cruel, with daily public executions, torture, and heads of prisoners impaled on spikes. It is also a time of superstition and grave public danger, with a lack of sanitation, and the Bubonic Plague spreading in the streets, carried by rats.

In this environment Caitlin and Caleb land, on the search for her father, for the third key, for the mythical shield that can save humankind. Their mission takes them through a whirlwind of London’s most amazing medieval architecture, through the British countryside’s most breathtaking castles. It takes them back into the heart of London, where they just might meet Shakespeare himself, and see one of his plays live. It brings them to a little girl, Scarlet, who just might become their daughter. And all the while, Caitlin’s love for Caleb deepens, as finally they are together—and as Caleb might just finally find the perfect time, and place, to propose to her.

Sam and Polly have traveled back, too, and as they find themselves stuck together on their own journey, their relationship deepens, as they each, despite themselves, can’t help feeling more deeply for each other.

But all is not well. Kyle has come back, too, as has his evil sidekick, Sergei, and they are both intent on destroying everything good in Caitlin’s life. It will be a race to the finish, as Caitlin is forced to make some of the hardest decisions of her life if she is to save everyone who is dear to her, save her relationship with Caleb—and try to make it out alive.

BETROTHED is Book #6 in the Vampire Journals (following TURNED, LOVED, BETRAYED, DESTINED and DESIRED), and yet it also stands alone as a self-contained novel. BETROTHED is nearly 70,000 words.

Books #7--#10 in the series are now also available! Morgan Rice's #1 Bestselling series THE SURVIVAL TRILOGY, a dystopian, post apocalyptic thriller, is now also available for sale. And Morgan Rice's #1 Bestselling fantasy series, THE SORCERER'S RING, comprising ten books (and counting) is now also available--beginning with Book #1, A QUEST OF HEROES, which is a FREE download!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best book yet! October 8, 2011
By Lpost
Format:Kindle Edition
Best book yet in the series! The characters have finally matured including Caitlin and are not resorting to their immature irrational impulses like in the previous books which was quite frustrating. There are a few new twists and characters that make the plot develop nicely. The ending leaves you at a cliff hanger eagerly awaiting for book 7!

1.0 out of 5 stars Realllllly Bad and boring January 11, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This was an awful book. Reminds me of young authors attempts. Editing problems aside, this book lacks character development. If Caitlin is asked for a key repeatidly throughout the book and each time she is "baffled" then is reminded about her neckless.( she has used this key throughout the series and she can't remember it? Come on)
The love interests in this book are lacking as well. If you get engaged you should be secure in that relationship not so jealous that anytime a woman(or female vampire) says hi to your man you leave in a fit of jealously. Also the whole human/vampire population hinges on you completing a mission but you keep stoping to have a real life....... Really, if the mission isn't completed there will be no "happy ending"

3.0 out of 5 stars Repeat, Repeat, Repeat August 15, 2013
By Deni
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Like the other books in this series, there are a lot of typing errors. The book seems as if it's written for young adults, which is not a bad thing... just FYI. It seemed to drag on for me and repeat the same type of situations in each book, just different times and places in history... I read all of the books, but didn't really need to because I could tell what was going to happen.

1.0 out of 5 stars Needs proofreading. September 5, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Premise is good, that is why I continue to read this series. However still poorly proofread and often seems as if written by a child. Was it this book or the last the last that does not know the proper use of there versus their? And at 85 percent with 30 min left I believe there r "person mistakes" @ top o dBm page'

4.0 out of 5 stars Good story, bad editor. March 27, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a great story line. Written well. Very descriptive of the settings. Only down side is the grammatical errors. I'm not sure anyone has edited this series. They have the wrong words in the wrong place, wrong character names in places, and have incorrect spelling of the word in other places. It's very distracting, for a young adult series I would have hoped it was edited better so that kids don't make the same silly errors in their writing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very wonderful series... February 24, 2014
By Cady
Format:Kindle Edition
Although there are a few errors, like if Scarlett is around 8, how could Caitlin hoist her onto her shoulders? Vampire strength, I know. But would that cause suspicion from other people that a eight year old is on a thin framed girl? It overall is a really good book that has a touch of everything- romance, suspense, and adventure.

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This one I must say was certainly not my favorite for this series i found this one like book 2 it was good and held a plot but wasn't as exciting as the others and towards the end I list interest hoping the next one is more like the first and third. Overall great story though.
