Sleek & comfy but big zipper, May 5, 2011
This dress is great. The fabric seemed thick in the photo, but it's actually thin fabric that feels silky and flowing. It is very comfortable, and despite looking like a sheath dress that one might expect to restrict leg movement, it's very easy to move in (will be good for dancing). The only downside is the use of an industrial strength zipper, fully exposed on the side of the dress. Because it's so thick, it's easily noticeable and the bottom of it makes the silky fabric kink up around it, which prevents a smooth contour over the hip. I may try to trim the zipper fabric underneath or pin it somehow to minimize the kink. The upside of the zipper is that this dress can look stylish with industrial-esque accessories and chunkier boots/shoes as well as with more delicate accessories. Two very different looks from the same dress. Overall, I'm happy with the dress and plan to wear it to a late spring wedding.
