Though no one has yet released a truly comprehensive collection of Kim's work (as a performer AND songwriter), this import collection is fairly impressive. It does skimp a bit on her rock material ("Thrill Of The Grill," "Dancin' At The Light House" are two notable omissions) and completely ignores her pre- and post-EMI material, which is what keeps this collection from being truly definitive. But given that it gives a nice "rounded" look at her "hit years," it's likely that most of Kim's latter-day fans will be pleased. It should be noted that all of the tracks included here actually DO appear on other CDs by Kim, but those discs are either expensive (and out of print) import CDs from Japan and Austrailia, or domestic compilations that are still available. If you're looking for a fairly inexpensive way to complement your copies of "Mistaken Identity Collection" and the "Gypsy Honeymoon" best-of, this compilation is a great way to do it.

If you like the synthesizer sound of the 80's and you are a hit collector, you should buy this album.

Kim Carnes is Grammy Award winner for 2 times! One in 1981 for "Bette Davis Eyes" (from "Mistaken Identity") and the other in 1983 for "I'll Be Here Where The Heart Is" (from "Café Racers") from the motion picture Flashdance.

She has had 25 hits on Billboard's charts, between 1976-1992.

This is a compilation from her EMI albums "Romance Dance" (1980), "Mistaken Identity" (1981), "Voyeur" (1982), "Café Racers" (1983), "Barking At Airplanes" (1985) and "Lighthouse" (1986). Also includes 1 track from "That's Dancin'!" soundtrack: "Invitation To Dance".

SEPTEMBER 16, 2005 * CHASIN' WILD TRAINS * Kim Carnes will release her latest album, Chasin' Wild Trains, to retail outlets on Sept. 16th. The album was previously released online in 2004 by Spark Dawg Music. The new label is CoraZong Records (Soulfood Music) from The Netherlands.

a great retropective album w/14 killer cuts from hits to some lesser known classics. a must have!

this is the definitive kim carnes collection. recorded between the years 1981-1985, this compilation is an "all-killer, no-filler" compilation from one of the best female artists of the 80's. while i may not be that familiar with some of the tracks, nevertheless, they are great inclusions in this worthy compilation.

kim carnes was on the charts as mtv started its ascent to television and the households in 1981...her songs do bring a lot of teenage memories...

buy it: this is the only definitive single disc collection of kim carnes available at the moment. definitely worth your money!

avoid it: if you have already collected all or most of kim carnes' albums!

THIS IS A VERY HOT AND SENSUAL CD. THE WHOLE THING IS GOOD...NO B.S. TRACKS HERE. KIM CARNESHAS ONE OF THE THREE BEST WHITE FEMALE VOICES OF ALL TIME. TOO BAD SHE'S DISSAPEARED FROM THE SCENE.

Words cannot describe how good this cd is. From "Bette Davis Eyes" to the unforgettable "Bon Voyage" which is clearly her best ballad ever, you will fall in love with this cd.

This was another mistake. I had the original record with "Betty Davis Eyes" This isn't that CD. my mistake.

flashes of brilliance mired by oceans of mediocrity. kim can do better than this.
