The cast has a great chemistry, the acting is excellent, and the show has heart.

It will be really interesting to see what the amazing writers this show has can make out of that, if anything.

I've watched every episode since the beginning, and love this show more than any other!

NCIS is my all time favorite show. I even responded "OOOrah" to a man as I got off an elevator last week after hearing him say "Semper Fi" to another man. He grinned and turned to look at me and I said "huge Gibb's fan". He nodded. I'm a grandmother and not a marine so I hope I was not being disrespectful as I meant it with utmost respect. I will buy this season when it is released as I have all the others, but will not pay the price that it costs at this time (my least favorite season). I think the Bishop character is shallow and uninteresting and has no major contribution to the show. Leave all the terrorism plots to NCIS: L.A. Glad the later episodes are starting to feel like the previous seasons. I look forward to a tribute show recognizing Ralph Waite/Jackson Gibbs. I'm sure they are all reeling from Cote's unexpected departure, as we all are. Change happens and "the show must go on", but I hope the NCIS family will find their way back to the quality, chemistry and human interests storylines we all love and look forward to each week. It's patriotism, humor and caring, not only for each other but for the secondary characters, is what we all appreciate (love Gibb's with children and animals). I would like to see Coast Guard Abby as the replacement for Ziva. Even Colonel Hollis Mann would be a better fit than Bishop if Susanna Thompson is available. The actors and behind the scene personnel still do a great job and I will remain a loyal fan forever.

Season 11 was lack-luster when it came to acting. The cast has become more reserved with their characters roles. It sometimes appears they are simply "reading the lines" and depending on the past success of their characters to carry them through the scenes. The lack of acting started at the beginning of Season 11 and has continued through the Season finale. Have the actors gotten tired of the roles or have the writers stopped writing?

The team is not the same at all Bishop just doesn't fit. The awesome team dynamic is gone. There's no connection. She's just another character. Kate and Ziva had a real impact on the team.
After all of these years, I have to mark it as a 2.

Actually I don't know if the episodes have a good story line. I haven't watched any more episodes since this review. I won't be watching next season unless they get a new character!

Although I definitely would not recommend this season, I've heard that episode 24. 'Honor Thy Father' is a must see. I haven't seen it yet, but I will soon.

I have been a fan of NCIS since the first season with Kate. While it was pretty hard to imagine a Secret Service agent that small and especially one that could kick the butt of a large man that is used to fighting, it did make an interesting angle. But size and weight do matter in a fight. When they replaced Kate with Ziva it bent credibility, but I gave it to them since the whole Masod back story was interesting. However, this latest replacement is pretty lackluster. IMO if they were going to go with another female lead why didn't they pick a 6'2" Amazon body builder with a back story that she was a retired Marine? They could have done a lot of interesting things with the characters and their interplay and it would be more believable to see a woman who looked like she could kick butt actually kick some butt. The new replacement for Ziva just seems lackluster and I'm wondering if they have realized that since she seems to be seen a little less in each episode.

Forget the ditzy blond- I do not care how smart she is. They still
need a replacement for Ziva and she is most certainly not it!!

This season, by all accounts will likely be the most controversial with the departure of Cote de Pablo as Ziva David. If anyone has followed the news, you can tell how toxic the situation is on both sides. The actress, a week before filming, gave notice she wouldn't be back for the new season.

That part has permeated Facebook, Twitter, and CBS in comments that every week are mostly: "Bring Back Cote/Ziva". Her replacement or rather a new NCIS team member was added with Emily Wickersham who portrays NSA Analyst Ellie Bishop, in a true "probie" role. She is quirky and analytical. Watching the behind the scenes special features, you can tell that Wickersham has been welcomed by the cast and crew, and does a great job in acting as a probie would - uncertain, aloof, and curious.

She was created to be different from Ziva, as well as Kate. Given the fact of how much re-writing and planning had to be done at the last minute ... this cast (and crew) pulled it off beautifully!!

This season also introduces us to a new NCIS spinoff ... New Orleans.

This is the season where I had to mostly watch it online. I only missed three episodes, but now that I have the DVDs ... I'm caught up. If you haven't seen it, sorry, but there will be spoilers here.

These are a few of my favorite episodes from this season:

"Past, Present, and Future" - Ziva fans will love this choice (though they may not), and those who are sick to death over the fall-out will blast me (though they may praise me). Either way, the reasons are clear ... the lesson of cutting ties to a past life, even if it had several good moments. It served as a proper goodbye and in essence a "full-circle" to where her life began. Where her life might have been different.
