When our now 10 1/2 month old son began climbing on his little inflatable tub, we started looking for another choice in the tub. We found this Bath Mat and the Inflatable Tub liner. The combination of the two items have save our active boy from from many injuries so far already. The mat sticks to the tub base wonderfully. It may seem a bit pricey, but it sticks so much better and is bigger then the rest. Well worth it.

Great mat!,
This is a great bath mat that fits the entire length of the tub. Minor drawback-You do have to hang it up to dry after each use or else it will mildew very quickly.

hazardous to your health,
This review is from: Bath Mat - Ulti-Mat (Blue) (39.5" x 16")
Yes, the mat doesn't slip in the tub due to all those suction cups. I wish I could say the same for the surface you actually stand on - it is extremely slippery when wet, and a danger to your health with soap on it. I finally decided after 3 months of trying to work with it to just chuck it in the garbage can. I bought a cheap mat at Walmart and it works just fine.

Worked for us,

I wanted to get a bath mat that covered the entire length of the bathtub as we had troubles getting our toddler to stay seated. When he does manage to stand up, the textured surface keeps him from slipping. There are plenty of suction cups to keep the mat secured to the tub. Cleaning it isn't that fun, but that's not surprising. After about a year, we had to replace it because it was starting to look moldy no matter how much I scrubbed. Overall, it was worth the money.

terrific bath mat for use in an old style tub as it nearly fits the space perfectly given it is oversized. i use this for my 16 month old daughter and it has been really good at keeping her from slipping although i still dont let her stand up

Very good bath mat.,

Grips great. Large enough to cover most of the tub floor. Feels much safer than smaller, white bath mat. This mat's suction cups are much more gripping. Also, washes clean in the wash machine, unlike my previous white one which seemed to hang onto mold.

This is a very large mat and fits the tub nicely. I like it because I can walk up and down the whole length of the shower and not worry about falling. It is soft under the feets and smooth enough to sit on for bathing. Suctions nicely to the tub and the clear blue looks great on our blue bath tub.

So far, the best mat we've had in a long time,

You never know how good a bath mat will be or how long it will last. They always seem to get dirty so fast and stay that way, no matter what you do to prevent it or to clean them. I guess we've had our Ultimate mat about two months, and so far it has stayed pretty clean. Usually, when that unidentifiable gunk starts to build up in and around the suction cups or in the crevices of whatever texture the mat has, it takes hard scrubbing with some sort of cleaner or bleach to get it out. Eventually, no amount of scrubbing gets it all out, and you have to just throw out the mat (what a waste and a burden on the environment). With this mat, so far (I have to keep adding that phrase because it may not last), a light rubbing with an old soft toothbrush and some water gets it clean. It doesn't have a lot of texture where dirt can get caught, it's comfortable to stand on, and it's not slippery when wet. It's lightweight and easy to pull up to drip-dry. If this keeps up, this may truly be the ultimate mat.Addendum: It's been about 6 months, and although this mat has some great qualities, it would not stay clean. There is enough of a texture on the surface so that it does get dirty and eventually becomes impossible to clean. The most problematic areas are the suction cups. Dirt and shampoo residue seem to collect quickly around them. The residue does come off fairly easily with a toothbrush, but there are so many suction cups, it becomes quite tedious to clean them all. This mat actually doesn't even need the suction cups to stay in place. It stays put very well even when folded in half with the suction cups to the inside. We're long overdue for a new mat. If anyone can suggest a better one, with fewer suction cups, please comment. |
