The Better Date than Never Series, Boxed Set Vol. #1

Dating is so much easier when you have good friends to lean on. . . .

This book bundle includes three contemporary romance novellas for one low price:

Love at First Date, Book #1

Ellen’s figured out that finding the right guy is all about compatibility. That’s why she signs up for Detailed Dating—the local online dating scene in Sacramento. They ask men the hard questions, compare their answers with hers, then she filters through the profiles of each provided “match.” After numerous email exchanges, she narrows it down to two promising candidates she’s excited to meet in person.

When Ellen’s best friend asks her for a favor, dog-sitting leads to disaster and Ellen ends up at the local vet where she meets a man she can’t get out of her mind. Henry isn’t a logical choice, but she finds herself paying for dog obedience class to spend more time with him.

Ellen knows that in order to have a lasting relationship, she should take the safe route and go for one of the pre-screened guys. But, how can she think with her head when her heart keeps begging her to give Henry a chance?

Truth or Date, Book #2

Gina Hall is done with men who won’t commit. Ten years waiting for her ex to propose wasted her time. Never again. When her friend Kristen starts a game of Truth or Dare, she dares Gina to go on a date with Ethan, who’s amazing and total marriage material.

As Gina plans the going away party for office playboy Chris Bradley, she spontaneously initiates a game of Truth or Dare with him. When his turn comes around, he dares Gina to pose as his girlfriend to help get a flirty colleague off his back. Gina finds playing couple with Chris way too much fun.

Even though Gina and Chris are pretending, their relationship begins to feel painfully real. Fearing she might be falling for another fly-by man, Gina must focus on Ethan so she doesn’t make the same dating mistakes all over again.

My Last Blind Date, Book #3

It’s Valentine’s Day and Rachel Price has a choice: Stay home and watch TV with her loveable doggy or let her best friend, Ellen, set her up on a blind date. What to do….

Ellen says the guy is a “10,” but the last guy she set her up with was a “–5.” Rachel’s been flirting with coworker Noah Peterson and she’s hoping he’s noticed. Then, she finds out Noah has big plans. Even worse, he advises Rachel to go on the blind date!

Should she play it safe and spend the Hallmark holiday with her loyal pooch, Chester, or risk another dating disaster by trying yet again for love?

Enjoy these three novellas of friendship, laughter, and love. Happy reading!!

4.0 out of 5 stars sweet February 7, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a super sweet dating box set. I love that each story follows another of the girls you meet in the beginning of the set. Each story is cute, sweet and wonderful little romances. They are short, but worth it to lose yourself in a day of Valentine's love!

5.0 out of 5 stars 3 wonderful short stories will worth the read March 29, 2014

Format:Kindle Edition
All over review:

I usually do not care too much for short stories they leave so much out with very little story to be read. In this case it was well worth the read all three books were fun loving, with humor that the author took time to get it just right. The stories didn’t not have missing words that make you wonder what happen, it was well written with an easy flow that make the writing style one of the best short stories I have read in a while. These stories are about looking for love in all the wrong places and finding it where you least expect it. They are clean reads without pages of pages of unwanted fill in that you just want to skip over. If you are looking for a fun loving, caring, clean passion then this is the stories for you. I would recommend you picking up and giving it a read you will love it.

Review on each book:

Love at First Date, Book #1

A cute short romance about looking for love in all the wrong places only to find it right in front of you where you least expected. People can be too much alike or think they want something they do not. Sometimes compatibility is over rated we can be too compatible or think we want one thing when in fact it isn’t what we want at all.

Elle felt she needed to find someone compatible she signed up on Detailed Dating site. She did her profile and got her dates. The dates were all wrong she found what she really wanted was what she didn’t want at all.

This was a cute little read that is a funny clean reads about finding the mate of your dreams at first site. If you want an easy fast fun read this is the book for you.

Truth or Date, Book #2

This is a fun loving clean book that will keep you smiling and even give you a few laughs.

This is a wonderful, fun, romantic series you shouldn't miss out on! Three in one is a great deal and every one of the stories will touch your heart and keep a smile on your face!

LOVE AT FIRST DATE (#1): Wonderful short story of Ellen's modern day search for love. This book was funny, sweet, cleverly written, heart warming and had a fantastic ending! I especially liked how the characters seemed real. Like people I'd know and be friends with, making it easy to relate to them and therefore the story. Gave me hope my Henry is out there... now if only I had a dog to take to obedience school! 4.5 stars

TRUTH OR DATE (#2): I LOVED Gina and Chris's story. I think it was very romantic how Chris used the ruse of needing a pretend girlfriend to spend time with Gina. Their role playing banter was fun and sweet at the same time. It was clear to me as a reader that Chris was totally smitten with Gina and had my head shaking at several points when Gina was just not getting it. Ms. Hatler has once again written a sigh worthy love story with a swoon worthy leading man and a realistic leading lady. Enjoyed revisiting with Gina's friends Rachel, Kristen, and of course, the bride, Ellen. Would have liked to have a little more of Henry, the groom. Overall this is a very engaging and romantic love story with a delightful HEA ending. 5 stars

MY LAST BLIND DATE (#3): Very sweet and romantic love story! Rachel finally gets her happy ending! Noah is a dreamy new coworker who after flirting with Rachel for months seizes the opportunity to make his move on Valentine's day! I really wish this story had been longer but what was there was wonderful! 4 stars

4.0 out of 5 stars Loved them! February 4, 2014
By JulieD2
Format:Kindle Edition
I just loved this collection of 3 romantic, contemporary novellas.
The story's are about Ellen, Gina and Rachel.
The first book is Ellen's story. A 30 year old women on the dating scene looking for Mr. Right on the internet. Her picks don't always turn out that well.
The second book keeps you guessing right until the end who Gina will pick as her finale choice as a boy friend. It was sweet and funny.
In the third book Rachel takes the plunge and goes on a mystery blind date on valentines day.
The women are friends and they appear in each of the story's which was nice.
These 3 novellas were romantic, fun and a joy to read, they were great.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun and Fast Chick-Lit June 18, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
For my chick-lit fix the Better Date than Never series hits the spot. This collection includes the first three books: Love at First Date, Truth or Date, and My Last Blind Date. The series follows a group of friends living and working in New York City. I love catching a glimpse of what it would be like to be a working woman in the city. I love reading about the girls' dating horror stories, and eventual successes. The stories are short, fun, and sassy. The characters are ones you would want to meet and befriend. I also appreciate that the content is clean. There may be some innuendo or talk about sleeping with past boyfriends, but the stories themselves are pretty PG. The series can be read out of order (I did it that way), but you will get more background information on the side characters if you read the series in order.

My favorite story was Truth or Date! I loved when Gina and Chris were pretending to be a couple and the banter that ensued. I also loved my Last Blind Date, but wished that the story was longer.

Disclosure: I received a copy of this book though the publisher and in exchange for an honest review.
