This book is amazing. Most of the recipes are made with staple items you have on hand! No funky seasonings or strange vegetables. Whip up the casserole at naptime, pop it in the oven before dinner, All Set!!!!!! Substitutions are very easy, add some frozen veggies to make it more nutritious!! I can not rave enough about this book. MAny of the brunch casseroles can also serve as dinner. I have now given this book as gifts to expectant mothers.....Huge timesaver, great meals!! Can't go wrong!

4.0 out of 5 stars Biggest Book of Casseroles, January 18, 2007
This review is from: Better Homes and Gardens Biggest Book of Casseroles (Better Homes & Gardens) (Plastic Comb)
This book is chock full of easy recipes using items that are probably already in your cupboard. I rated 4 star only b/c I am a visual person and there aren't pics of most dishes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great casserole book, November 10, 2006
This review is from: Better Homes and Gardens Biggest Book of Casseroles (Better Homes & Gardens) (Plastic Comb)
This is a great and comprehensive book. It covers breads, breakfasts, meat, vegetarian, and dessert casseroles with make-ahead hints, a list for a well-stocked, casserole-friendly pantry and general casserole tips. I have made at least 8 casseroles (from various categories) in the book and they have all turned out very well. Most were incredibly easy, too. This is my first and only casserole book and I'm very happy with it- I don't think I need another one since I feel like this one covers just about everything.

4.0 out of 5 stars A casserole complete, February 23, 2006

If you're into casseroles, this book is for you! Who knew you could do so much with a 13X9" pan? As someone making a temporary foray into one dish time saving dinners, I love the many options for tasty, albeit not lo-cal dinners and breakfasts. Everything is covered in this book, and I find the tips especially helpful. The introduction has a lot of great recommendations as to what can be made ahead and how to freeze and prepare later. I've made several dishes already, and all have been quite tasty....and pleasing to my toddler! A great companion cookbook when you need to bring a dish to a potluck or need to feed a crowd.

We first borrowed this book from the library and loved it. They are easy delicious meals using ingredients most pantries are stocked with. I make most first thing in the morning and then dont have to concern myself with dinner..just put it in the oven..voila....super book I wouldnt be without it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yummy Recipes, May 30, 2006
This review is from: Better Homes and Gardens Biggest Book of Casseroles (Better Homes & Gardens) (Plastic Comb)
I haven't made anything from this book yet but they all look really delicious. The only drawback that I can think of is that all of the recipes are unhealthy. Almost every recipe has biscuits or bread products and a lot of cheese in each recipe. It's really not healthy. But every recipe looks delicous and simple and mouthwatering.

Another great buy and an amazing book for those who love to cook. As usual I had first checked it out at my library and was certain I would like my own copy. This book came to me in brand new condition and I am extremely pleased with it.
By knowing the book ahead of time I am never disappointed with it when it becomes my own copy. Amazon is always the way to buy and I can not recommend it too highly. Fast service and no surprises! The used book dealers that work with Amazon are the best.

So, browsed through this book the minute it arrived. Loving the selection of recipes and always love "easy" recipes - casseroles! The only thing I don't like is the recipes call for some "instant" stuff: lots of mushroom soup for the bases and soup mixes for spices. You can solve this by making some of your own spice mixes - Google search for these and I got a recipe for the soup base [...]

Happy Cooking!
