A Christmas MUST HAVE, July 25, 2007
This review is from: Better Homes and Gardens Christmas (Leisure Arts #4321) (Perfect Paperback)
CHRISTMAS!!! My favorite time of the year. This book would put me in the mood even if there wasn't any snow on the ground!
110 pages of wonderful ideas for this happy season of sharing and friendship. From home decoration to gift giving and, of course, the food, this book brings it all to you in one place. It is well written and the page layout makes you want to have Christmas all year round.
Garlands, wreaths, chair decorations, decorating the mantel or Christmas tree, hanging the stockings and even decorating outside are all provided in the first chapters. Full color photos are presented first and then the instructions for making all of these items follows. A materials list is provided and easy to follow instructions are given. Templates are provided if needed.
Do you love to make gifts to give? Then check out the next section. There are Christmas balls to decorate, pillows to make, centerpieces and table decorations to do. You can make gift tags and turn paint cans into great gift boxes. And if you are a bit weak in the wrapping and bow making department, this book will walk you through the steps to making some of the prettiest wrapped gifts you have given.
Last but not least is the section on the food. Appetizers, sweets and drinks are all included. Chocolate, either in drink or food, tarts, cheese spreads, almond cookies and even a coconut eggnog are here. The recipes are complete with ingredients and instructions that are well written. So, if Christmas is as special in your home as it is in mine, this is a MUST HAVE book.

excellent resource for holiday ideas, July 28, 2009
This review is from: Better Homes and Gardens Christmas (Leisure Arts #4321) (Perfect Paperback)
This book had tons of great ideas for decorating, ornaments, and dessert/treats for the holidays, all photographed beautifully. The recipes are easy to follow, not complex, but can look wonderful, depending on your skill level. For example, a coconut eggnog, a simple yule log cake (something I never want to make, but after seeing this one, woohoo!), a chocolate mousse cake, a tasty-looking cranberry punch. In addition, I appreciated the simple ideas/explanations for decorating, and plan to incorporate many of them into this holiday season (for example, a really cute Christams tree made from TinkerToys). Certainly one of the better Christmas idea books around.

Better Homes and Gardens Christmas Leisure Arts 4321, November 21, 2009
This review is from: Better Homes and Gardens Christmas (Leisure Arts #4321) (Perfect Paperback)
I love this book and it lives up to its reputation,. the Better Homes and Gardens Christmas book is special to me because I kept my hardcover one I purchased back in 1980 and raised my children on the book. It was full of wonderful homemade crafts and celebration cooking, I was fascinated to compare how the times have changed and life styles. I am pleased with the purchase because it has now replaced my old one, which I handed down to my daughter this year which delighted her immensely.
This book is perfect for a bigger to expect enjoy every item inside and make your Christmas a perfect one.
