This review is from: Better Late Than Never (Audio CD)
This is the first of two albums cut by Rosie (this one in 1976). Rosie is Lana Marrano, David Lasley and Lynn Pitney, three friends from the Detroit cast of Hair. The songs are authored by Lana Marrano and composed by David Lasely, and have all of the depth you would expect from artists who have been saving up a lifetime of feelings and experiences until they got this chance to get it out on vinyl (we're talking 70's people).

The sound and arrangements haven't aged. This is music to listen to for its intrinsic value, nostalgia aside. Among some of the "added value" is the fact that Genya Ravan produced the album, and the Brecker Brothers (and other studio muscians of their stature) are giving of their best.

Unfortunately RCA did very little to promote this group at the time (although Chaka did a great version of Roll Me Through the Rushes, which came from this album) and it took some enterprising Japanese to rekindle interest in their music. If you've taken the trouble to read this, take the time to hear this CD as well!
