5.0 out of 5 stars Great Item!!!
I have purchased 6 of these so far. Left 3 at the house I sold last year and bought 3 for the house I am living now. I am moving next year and going to buy more. There are similar products out there but this is the best of all. 3.0 out of 5 stars Functions well but...
You need to be careful opening and closing the cover, the latch is prone to breakage. We also had a crack form on the soap (most used) pump which still works but leaks soap and needs replacing. I'll be buying another unit and keeping the older one for parts. It could be made of a more resiliant plastic, probably for slightly more money, but worth it in my opinion. Overall...

There are similar products out there but this is the best of all. Don't buy the one with a tray on top (so you can place small items), it looks very convenient, but in a long run, it gets so dirty and you have to clean so often. You can also use this in the kitchen to store detergent, hand soap, hand lotion, etc. I strongly recommend this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars No drips about it, April 7, 2004
By A Customer
I had this item in my shower for a long time. I moved and I miss it so much I am buying another one. It is easy to fill. It doesn't leak or drip like some of the others. It stayed on the wall with the tape no tools needed. I love it.

I have seen these in catalogs before & didn't give them a second thought. Then one day when I was cleaning under & around all of my shampoo bottles, etc in the shower, it hit me that one of these might just consolidate all the shampoos/conditions & body wash that I have collected in my shower. So, I ordered one a higher price & I am so thrilled that I am ordering one for the kids' bathroom where I had hubby put in an extra shelf just to hold all the shampoos etc. Now it will all be in one place, not messy & out of the reach of my toddler!
The other thing that I have noticed is that I don't use nearly as much shampoo as I did before - I get a few squirts & if that isn't enough, I get more - no more dumping a handfull of shampoo in my hand. I know I use far less shampoo than I did before I had this so I am no longer wasting it!
This is just the greatest concept & this product is very easy to keep clean & it works & looks great in the shower.
I would recommend this product to anyone! & if you don't think you will fill up all four sections - get a smaller one but I found the 4 section one is just what I needed; one for clarifying shampoo, one for conditioning shampoo, one for conditioner & one for body wash. No more bars or shampoos cluttering my bathroom!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dispenser IV is INdispensable, April 8, 2005
My wife and I picked up one of these several years ago and it didn't take long for us to get a second one for our shower! Eventually, I bashed one of them with my elbow and, as quick as we could, we replaced it with a 3rd. My wife recently dropped one of the bottles and broke the valve, so now we're looking to get either a new bottle or another whole unit. We use the IV for her shampoo, conditioner, shower wash, and my dandruff shampoo. This thing is awesome!

I have been wanting one of these since I first spotted them on Amazon months ago! I finally received my 3 chamber white (for the bathtub) and 4 chamber white (for the shower) a few days ago.

The plastic is a nice white sturdy thickness - it doesn't feel cheap. It's sleek, feels nice, and looks awesome. It opens up easily at the bottom, allowing you into the chamber to remove the included bottles. I had a 3/4 full 24 OZ family bottle of Pert Plus shampoo, and poured all of it into one of the clear bottles immediately. It's exciting to know that I can now purchase family size bottles of shampoo / conditioner and the entire thing will pour into my dispenser! No more bottle clutter. :) I also emptied my shelves of a gazillion of those teeny shower gel bottles that I had been unknowingly hoarding. The little included labels for "shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap, lotion" peel off and stick nicely to the front of whichever particular dispenser area you choose to use it on. (The labels are also given in French & Spanish in case you're feeling exotic...or you just happen to speak another language).

The attachment kit includes 4 squares of double sided mounting tape and a SMALL tube of silicone cementing gel (think "size of crazy glue tubes"), with the specific instructions that the entire tube should be used. The places on the back of the dispenser to stick the mounting tape and the places where the silicone gel must go are pretty intuitive. I had it ready to mount within 5 minutes of opening the box - and that includes taking time to wipe down the shower wall with alcohol then drying it (my choice - the directions just suggested it should be clean!).

I also made sure NONE of the bottles were inside of the white chamber - the directions say that the silicone gel must have 24 hours to bond before attempting to insert filled bottles back in the chamber. The mounting squares are not strong enough to support the bottles - they're just used to hold up the chamber until the gel dries, creating a permanent bond. The silicone gel is the true support hero here.

Then the bad part happened....

In my enthusiasm, I *stuck* my dispenser to the wall too fast and immediately realized it was a tad crooked. I'm the type of person who will fix a crooked picture in someone else's home....so a crooked dispenser in my own tub would not bode well. I thought that sliding it just a little would fix things. NOPE. Contact with the wall immediately broke. After trying (unsuccessfully) to get it to stick properly a few more times...even moving it around to a new spot...and even washing/drying off a new wall...I held my poor unstuck dispenser, and replaced the not-very-sticky-anymore-mounting-squares with the 4 new mounting squares from my 2nd dispenser in hopes that it would still work. I let it sit for 24 hours on the wall, and then tried to put in my bottles the following night - and it fell off the wall. If contact between the wall & gel is broken during initial installation, you'll need new gel. Period. It will NOT rebond. So be careful! Make sure that when you FIRST press the dispenser on the wall, it's level because if you move it or release the suction, the gel becomes useless.

But still, I was excited about having the dispenser! :) Even without it on the wall, I was able to insert my filled bottles and use it propped up on the tub edge that night. The bottles need priming before use (push in the button, stick your finger on the spout to create a suction, then release the button - do this a few times - this creates a vacuum which enables the product to flow out of the bottle properly), but that was really easy. It squirts in nice amounts too. I have long hair and only had to press the lever 3 quick times to get enough shampoo. Quick & easy!

This afternoon we made a trip to Lowes and picked up a tube of "Stick & Seal Ultra, Universal Adhesive / Extreme Conditions" for $3.00 and a pack of new mounting squares ($2.00). This was plenty enough for both dispensers. I used the new adhesive (a LOT of it!) & squares to mount my 3 chamber and 4 chamber dispensers tonight. They seem to be doing good so far and look awesome! Tomorrow night I'll cross my fingers and add the filled bottles to each one. I have a feeling everything will be ok though. Both my husband and I are excited about having such clutter free no-bottle bathrooms now!! I'm even considering getting two of the 2 chamber ones to put over the sinks for "soap & lotion". Very neat, professional looking product.

My only complaint is that the same amount of gel / mounting squares was included for both the 3 chamber dispenser and the 4 chamber dispenser. There wasn't enough gel in the included tube to completely cover all needed areas on our 4 chamber dispenser....and considering that the 4 chamber is heavier due to the 4th full bottle, more gel is needed for added strength. This wasn't really a problem for us though since we had already purchased the extra adhesive gel from Lowes before we even attempted to put up the 4 chamber.

All in all though, I'm very pleased.

I bought this because I was sick of tripping over all the different shampoos and conditioners that I like to trade off and on with. I like being able to switch back and forth, but hated having to pick which ones would be the "lucky" shower versions, and which would be put under the sink. It always turned out I'd have way too many bottles in the shower and then I found this!

What a perfect solution. Not only does it store all of what I'm using, but if you're one of those parents who always find yourself saying to your children, "What are you doing.... DRINKING THE SHAMPOO???".

It dispenses the perfect amount, and though I paid twice this much somewhere else, I'd do it again in a heart beat.

Its neat, its compact, and it works perfectly. I'm frankly thinking of giving it as a gift for those up and coming events that I'm not sure what they need or want.

Update: I've had this for a few months now, and the savings in shampoo has more than paid for it. It dispenses just the right amount, and results in big savings.

5.0 out of 5 stars No more soap on a rope!, July 4, 2007
This review is from: Better Living The Dispenser Classic 4 Chamber (Health and Beauty)
This dispenser has seriously elimanated any hassel caused by too many products in the shower. No more dropping the soap, no more bottles falling to the shower floor. A full bottle of Old Spice soap fits, along with my shampoo, conditioner, and face wash-It's nice! As far as installation, I can see a problem with one becomming impatient and not allowing the silicone adheasive to fully cure before using product, however a little paitence will be worth while; I took a two day approach. I will always have a classic dispenser.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, October 29, 2005
I have one of these in my shower and got it when I moved into my first apartment. It's been fine for 5 years. No leaks, no problems. I hit it with my arm (mine has a shelf for soap on the bottom) and that part broke off so I'm getting a new one! SOOOO much better than having bottles and soap all over the shower. Highly recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, February 13, 2010

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have to say I was really excited to order the Dispenser and could not wait for it to arrive in the mail. I felt the cost was fair and it was attractive. I could not wait for it to be hung on the shower walls to free up space and rid the shower of excess bottles of shampoo, etc...However it was a big disappointment to fill my dispenser and realize that thick products like lotion, conditioner and shampoo will hardly come out of the dispenser. Even the liquid soap you have to hit the dispenser button about 15-20 times just to get out a decent amount. I don't recommend anyone purchasing this item unless all of your items are watery!
