A great resource,
This review is from: Better Location Shooting: Techniques for Video Production (Kindle Edition)
This book covers really everything you need to know to be a good, reliable intermediate ENG shooter. Practical advice on equipment, composition and lighting, but also on shooting what an editor wants to see and in conveying a narrative, all delivered by someone who obviously has the real-world experience to back up his ideas.
My only criticism would be that the book is quite UK-centric, which is occasionally a limitation e.g. when discussing colour bars. It would have been small effort to include info on setting up using NTSC bars as well. Oh, and the chapter on keep fit exercises is obvious filler. But these are minor criticisms and on the whole I was delighted with my purchase of this book. |
