2.0 out of 5 stars Why do people like this?
If you are going to repeat 2 lines over and over throughout an entire song, couldn't you at least pick something more original than "talk to me" and "do you think you're better off alone"? They could have at least picked two cryptic lines other than something that is straight-forward and boring. I don't understand how people could listen to this...

I do suggest for fans of Techno, House, Hard House, Electronica, ETC. This is a must have for music lovers everywhere. My favorite track is #2 Vocal Clubmix. It starts off as the regular club pounding beat and adds instruments that will make you feel like you like you wish the song was NEVER over. The song also contains vocals! The beats are great so are the vocals: "Do you think you're better off alone?" & "Talk to me" ohhohohohohhhh. hehehe.

Well, This is a track that I am going to definitely keep in my dance collection forever. Hope my review helped! Thanks for taking your time in reading my review.

This is one of the best trance songs ever produced. It's very uplifting and is very catchy. The best remix of this song is the Signum Remix.

This is the hottest "euro-tech" song I've heard in a long time. I heard this song being spun by DJ Micro at a party and it made my night complete :)!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Vocal Trance Single!, June 18, 2003

Alice Deejay's single is excellent! She has some talent and thats for sure. You cant get sick of this single because all of the awesome remixes that it contains. My favorite track on this single hit is #3 the "Signum Remix". The tracks are wrong on this cd, the original one from the US contains the following tracks:
1)Radio Edit
2)Vocal Clubmix
3)Signum Remix
4)Pronti & Kalmani Vocal RMX
5)Pronti & Kalmani Club Dub
6)Mark Van Dale with Enrico RMX
Riding high on the "Pop-Trance" phenomenon that is currently breaking out of Europe (ie Eiffel 65, Sonique), Netherlands-based Alice Deejay is now poised to take on the US with their worldwide smash "Better Off Alone". The track has become an international anthem about the joys of being single. It has hypnotic vocals entwined around a heavy net of haunting melodies. The result manages to be touching yet refreshing, with a feminine touch of raw and fragile emotion that makes the track stand out from the pack.
I highly recommend this vocal trancer to anyone!

4.0 out of 5 stars Bouncy Piece Of Dutch Pop, May 26, 2001

Okay, okay. I know everyone already knows everything there is to know about this song. Afterall, in the year 2000 BETTER OFF ALONE became a runaway worldwide smash hit. However, I still feel inclined to give my little opinion of one of the hottest dance songs from last year. Alice Deejay who is really a Dutch DJ named Judy, gives a great performance in one the bounciest little dance songs to come out in a while. This song steers away from your typical Northern European bubblegum pop, and showcases a trancy kind of pop that gets stuck in your head instantly. This is a very nice song with great vocals by Alice Deejay.

5.0 out of 5 stars AN ADDICTION..., August 25, 2000
By
Daniel Levek (Hollywood, California USA) - See all my reviews

Almost a year after its release, Alice Deejay's Better Off Alone continues to be as mind-bending and fresh as ever. A perfect blend of trance and Euro-pop, its insanely catchy beat and addicting lyrics muse together to produce...! The beat is poppy enough to get even your grandma to bust-a-move, but there is enough underlying trance rythym to keep the cheese factor from making an unexpected appearance. Seriously trancy super-simple lyrics call out like mythological Sirens making you want to crawl into the speaker. To put it simply, the song is a drug. Hear it once, and your addicted for life. Re-mixes of the radio edit are equally as good. A little more off beat, each re-mix provides a fresh version of the original making it impossible to get enough. For fans of Dance, Trace and/or Euro-pop, the definative single is a MUST - a proven classic. As a huge electronica fan, I admit I'd suffer from withdrawl w/out mine.

Okay this song is short on lyrics, but long on dance beats.

Alice Deejay gives this song a techno dance twist that will keep you on the dance floor.

Definitely the best club play hit of the YEAR!
