What a delightfully sexy read!, October 31, 2011
This review is from: Better Off Red: Vampire Sorority Sisters Book 1 (Paperback)
I loved the fact that Rebekah managed to establish so much of Ginger's character so quickly, and to weave so many other layers into the tale. I wasn't expecting to have so much of the sorority (and its queen) exposed so early on, but I loved the mythology Rebekah created. I was equally surprised to find the story developing into a passionate romance, with Ginger and Camila's relationship turning out far differently than I expected, but it was precisely what I had (in retrospect) hoped for. Almost the very definition of a paranormal romance, this is a book that exceeded my expectations, and fulfilled my hopes. It's well-written, incredibly sexy, and as full of emotional satisfaction as it is physical. I wouldn't dream of spoiling the ending, but I will say this - it literally had me throwing my hands in the air, squealing with girlish glee, at the wonder of it all. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for whatever Rebekah has to offer next!

Very enjoyable and sexy, November 10, 2011
This review is from: Better Off Red: Vampire Sorority Sisters Book 1 (Paperback)
A few months ago I don't think anyone would have caught me dead with a paranormal romance and now I am actively seeking them out lol. I found myself very pleased with this novel as I honestly wasn't sure what to expect. I definitely thought this book was a fantastic first novel for the author. There were very few editing errors and the storytelling flowed quite nicely. Ginger was quite likable and her instant attraction to Camila was quite believable. There was a ton of sex in this book (thats a good thing imho) and it was well done with quite a bit of variety. Another good thing was how well the secondary characters were handled. There were several girls that were all very well written and I never once got them mixed up. The novel actually went to a place at the end that I really didn't expect and am not sure that I find terribly believable. Still I am in for the long haul now. Looking forward to seeing where the author takes these characters. I'm being vague as I don't want to slip an accidental spoiler. Still I have to say that if you enjoy paranormal stuff I think this is well worth your time. I will definitely be on the lookout for this author in the future! 4/5 Well done!

Delightful new take of the vampire story - very sexy, November 1, 2011
This review is from: Better Off Red: Vampire Sorority Sisters Book 1 (Paperback)
Better Off Red: Vampire Sorority Sisters Book 1 by Rebekah Weatherspoon print/DRM-free ebook by [...] Oh my, what a debut: grand entrance for Ginger, Camila, Alpha Beta Omega and a whole new take of the possibility of vampires. Rebekah spins a delightful yarn and beware you might need a cold shower in between - it can be hot, very steamy hot at the Sorority <vbg>. This is a debut, but doesn't feel at all like a first attempt. Thankfully expectation management has been properly done and the reader knows that a sequel will come ... the only question is when. Every sorority has its secrets... And college freshman Ginger Carmichael couldn't care less. She has more important things on her mind, like maintaining her perfect GPA. No matter how much she can't stand the idea of the cliques and the matching colors, there's something about the girls of Alpha Beta Omega--their beauty, confidence, and unapologetic sexuality--that draws Ginger in. But once initiation begins, Ginger finds that her pledge is more than a bond of sisterhood, it's a lifelong pact to serve six bloodthirsty demons with a lot more than nutritional needs. Despite her fears, Ginger falls hard for the immortal queen of this nest, and as the semester draws to a close, she sees that protecting her family from the secret of her forbidden love is much harder than studying for finals.
