On secret military missions Harlan Jeffries had defied danger;he'd be damned if minding an adorable child-and the boy'sstubborn and all too sexy aunt-would be his downfall. Butwhen little Adam's mother went missing, Harlan had no choicebut to take them both under his own personal protection. Gina Rodgers knew nothing about mothering or staying alive--but she knew a man with secrets when she saw one. Why then was she drawn to the macho, larger-than-life Harlan? Even as danger bred desire, Gina wondered what he knew about her sister's disappearance. But with the web of murder and conspiracy tightening around them, Harlan was all that stood between them and a killer.

Kay Thomas didn't grow up burning to be a writer. As a child she wasn't even much of a reader until fourth grade. That's when she was stuck at home with the flu and her big sister read THE BLACK STALLION aloud to her. For hours she was enthralled--shipwrecked in a foreign land and riding an untamed horse across the hot desert sand. Then tragedy struck. Her sister lost her voice. (Could have been Kay's flu.) But she couldn't wait to hear what happened to Alec Ramsey--so Kay picked up that book, finished reading it herself and went in search of more adventures at the local library.
Today Kay lives in Dallas with her husband, their two children and a shockingly-spoiled Boston terrier named Jack. She writes "bulletproof" romantic thrillers for Harlequin Intrigue. Her debut novel BETTER THAN BULLETPROOF (January 2009) was a HOLT Medallion Award of Merit recipient, a Readers' Crown finalist and a Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice Nominee. Her second book BULLETPROOF TEXAS was published in April 2009. And her third release, BULLETPROOF BODYGUARD, hit store shelves in April 2010 as part of Intrigue's Bodyguard of the Month series. Look for her fourth novel, BULLETPROOF HEARTS, in April 2011.
