Betting On Love is DEFINITELY better than the first book in this series...but I MUST admit I find some of the characters main and secondary to be somewhat IMMATURE at times...I just expected more from the cast of characters...especially considering their ages and their professional status...I mean I know we all have DRAMA in our lives sometimes...but some of the scenarios are a bit OVER-THE-TOP, IMHO...however, I'll say AGAIN I find this storyline more ENJOYABLE than Let's Get It On...and the passion between Jade and James is extremely HOT & SPICY...that being said I'm still interested in reading the third book in this series just to see what happens with their ever-growing circle of family and friends.

Betting on love is a page turner. Revernge is best when you gain not 1 but 2 good things from it.

Cheris Hodges created a novel that was fun to read. Who doesn't like hearing about Vegas hook-ups? This one was memorable, steamy, and romantic.

She does a great job rounding out the character's lives without overwhelming you with too many players. It was easy to keep track of who was who. I really liked the main character Jade and her close-knit girlfriends who had her back. And James, her love interest, was a believable gentleman. It was nice to read about positive African-American characters.

This was my first novel by this talented writer, and I will continue reading her books.

Jade Christian allows her alter ego to escape on a sabbatical to Las Vegas with her sister-friends. Duped out of her savings by her ex-fiance and jilted in one whop, her self esteem has taken an intense beating. James Goings is the `wind beneath the wings' of superstar NFL baller Maurice Goings. Bored with the lifestyle and the company of his brother and his cohorts, James has become cynical in regards to women due to past affiliations with groupies and gold diggers. While relaxing in Vegas with `the crew', James crashes into Jade and they are swept into a whirlwind fling that surfaces as an uncertain courtship. Doubt, mistrust, vengeance, fear, misconceptions, judgmental and meddling family and friends intervene at every opportunity. Can one carefree weekend of frolicking and fun lead to a lifetime of love and romance?

Betting On Love is an engaging novel filled with tasteful and interesting characters, realistic banter, real emotions, and genuine scenarios. Ms. Hodges has integrated a character from one of her past productions and further entertained us with an amazing and flowing read. I have yet to read a tale penned by Ms. Hodges that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed. Great read, great job, good storyline, good characters, just good to the last drop! 4.25****

This is the following up to "Let's Get It On"
James Goings is the older brother to NFL Marcus Goings who has always being in Marcus shadow. James would rather work then play. According to Marcus's James is always working so this weekend he talked James into going to Vegas to relax and have some fun.

Jade Christian girlfriends from college decided that Jade needed some cheering up when she find out in the paper they she has been replaced. Jade work as a book keeper for Steven Carter, who believe that was going to be sharing a life together. Once Steven propose and convince Jade to invest in his restaurant that he was going to open in Charlotte, NC she received the shock of her life when her friend show her the newspaper with Steven on the front page with his new finance'. For Jade she couldn't believe this because Jade was going to be his partner and wife and that was going to open that restaurant but that never happen. So off to Vegas to have some fun and with her friends they did.

You know what they say what goes on in Vegas stays in Vegas........................this was a weekend James & Jade will never forget. This was the beginning of two people who fell in love but we all know that loves does not always run smoothly. For Jade it was about making Stephen pay and getting her money back, and she knew this was not going to be easy.

James had decided that he wanted no part of Jade revenge plan once he found out that Jade ex was. James told Jade about their run with Stephan how he stole from their mother. Once James & Jade weekend was over they both at that point knew that they wanted to continue their relationship and was determined to make the long distance relationship work.

If you read `Let's Get It On' you will enjoy James story. For me James presence in Let's Get It On was so in my face I just had to have his story told and you will not be disappointed in this book.

I recommend that you purchase the book........oh by the way the book is so HOT........HOT.....HOT and you will not be able to put this book down once you begin to read.
