Wowsers! If you are looking for a quick read with plenty of emotion and lots of steam, this is it. Palmer's short story pulled me in from the start. The only trouble is that I want more. I highly recommend that you let Alex and Emmy into your world. You won't regret it. This one is hot, hot, hot!

I picked up this little gem because I LOVED the author's novella "Prohibited Passion".

This work, "Betting the Farm", is a longish short story with some of the same themes - social restrictions and the journey of self-discovery.

Oh, and did I mention there's hot lesbian sex? Lots of it. Enjoy!

I thought this was a love story..but it was a rather raunchy encounter between two women...which was also a surprise...I didn't know before hand that it was a gay story...which i would not have had a problem with if it wasn't presented as a sensual one night stand type of story which I detest.

I am so glad I got this free. It has been on my Kindle a while and I was looking for something short to read. I am sure this will appeal to some readers, just not me. You open with a lonely girl in a farm house when a thunder storm starts. A lone rider on a motorcycle stops by for refuge. I am sure you know what happens next. If you feel like paying $1.99 for 15 pages, I hope you enjoy it. The reason it received 2* is because I do not remember any outstanding errors.

Alyssa Linn Palmer is a Canadian writer and freelance editor. She splits her time between a full-time day job, and her part-time loves, writing and editing. Her novella PROHIBITED PASSION and short story BETTING THE FARM are available as ebooks. Her short story VEE is in the charity anthology FELT TIPS (edited by Tiffany Reisz).
