The face is easy to see. It's runs on couple AAA batteries with doesn't come with the clock. You can hear the alarm bells pretty good. The workmanship of the parts to the clock is cheap. To me the clock will not last for a long time. The person that I gave the clock too really likes Betty Boop so she was a happy camper getting the clock. So I'm happy too.
