This book arrived and our two daughters immediately chose it for their bedtime story. We all loved everything about it ~ the illustrations had great details and the language reminded us of how our family actually talks and just how hard it is for young children to learn patience for yummy treats! Our youngest LOVES chocolate cake and so this earned a special place of honor on her bookshelf and has been requested as the next "Royal Reader" book at school - high praise, indeed!

I bought this book for a nephew whose eyes light up at the word, "cake." This is the perfect book to talk about enjoying sweets, but not going overboard with sugar. The illustrations are perfect for the text, and both generate conversations about eating and appreciating cake.

Her Mom calls Betty Bunny "a handful", and she knows how much she loves her, Betty thinks that must be a very good thing to be. Now that she's tasted her first bite of chocolate cake, it's the only thing she wants to eat, and she wants to eat it now. Betty even takes a slice of cake to school, with disastrous results. Mother tries to teach her about patience - read the final page to see if she succeeded! Told with charm and gentle humor, Betty Bunny Loves Chocolate Cake paints a charming picture of family life. Whimsically illustrated, preschoolers and early readers will love this tale.

"bettty bunny is a handful" was one of my favorite lines in this book.
the story kept my 3 yr old happily entertained.

As a a grandma who used to insist that dinner be consumed before dessert was served, this book really hit home. I thought it was adorable--exceptionally well written with great illustrations. Loved it!!

This book is such a funny read. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, me or my four-year-old. It depicts typical sibling relationships and their challenges. Each child character realistically adopts a role - peace-maker, antagonist, thoughtful solution-finder, and of course, "the baby". The mom character is a role-model for all with her extreme patience. The best part is how Betty Bunny thinks and reasons just like a child. I believe the author must have pulled this experience straight from his childhood. Such a delightful story that will make you laugh out loud.

The Book reminds me of a few kids I know and the innocence in which kids think. The title did not peak my interest but it caught my daughter's. Even my older son thinks the book is funny. Well written and fun illustrations.

This book couldn't have come at a better time. My 2 year old son is obsessed with chocolate cake. Although, he rarely has it. I love the fun humor and the message of this story. I read it to him every night before bed. When I ask him if he would like me to read him "Betty Bunny Loves Chocolate Cake", he always says, "YES!" I think somewhere inside he's hoping that I meant, "Would you care for some chocolate cake?". Great book for any child!

Love this book!! Both my husband and I found this a pleasure to read to our 2 year old, who also loves it! It is very well written with great pictures and has even helped my daughter to understand the concept of 'patience' even if, like Betty Bunny, she struggles to apply it!

Both my 4 year old granddaughter and I loved this book. She loves collecting bunnies and loves chocolate. The pictures are delightful and the humor just perfect.
