5.0 out of 5 stars I love it!, June 27, 2007

This review is from: Betty Crocker Cookbook (Holiday Bonus Edition) (Ring-bound)
My mom bought this for me as one of my wedding shower gifts. I've used her mother's Betty Crocker cookbook from the 50/60's for years. This one has great pictures to show every type of vegitable, pasta, and cut of meat you can imagine. This edition has all the best recipies from the old book with calorie/carb/fat counts and a whole bunch of bonus features. If you're just learning to cook and want something that explains why certain things work together in recipies so you can have the skills to pull things together on your own, this is the book for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good For The Basics., March 8, 2007
This review is from: Betty Crocker Cookbook (Holiday Bonus Edition) (Ring-bound)
I mainly utilize the internet for my recipes, but every now and then when I know that my recipe is simple and just can't remember, "Was that baking soda or baking powder that I need?" I like being able to just flip it open. I do like the nice ideas for the holidays. I also LOVE that it is available in a 3-ring binder. My last copy was a softback and I had a rubberband holding the cover and pages in, for years. So, I suppose, there is no surprise here. I think it would be a great First cook book.

The Holiday Guide is awesome, I use it for inspiration for just about every holiday, great ideas, suggestions, and even decorating tips!
As with any recipe you can always modify to your particular taste, dietary restriction, etc, Betty Crocker is a great basic cookbook.
