My family loves these potatoes. At this price we will be getting more. They taste like a real loaded baked potatoe without all the building of one.

Just did a taste test - as top for a Shepard's Pie - microwaved - no need to use big oven ...

Place cooked meat in bottom - 8 or 9 glass pie plate
[We just used some slow cooker 'pulled pork' but *pre-cooked* Grnd Beef/Chicken/Ham works well also]

Layer a veggie - canned corn/peas/ peas and carrots or green beans - drained - season lightly then top w/package of these potatoes - Betty Crocker Loaded Mashed 100% Real Potatoes, 3.3-Ounce Packages (Pack of 8)
Place in microwave - heat until desired temp. No need to cover - top w/cheese or Paprika for accent.

For Chili - make potatoes and set in bottom of Bowl - making small hollow - place Heated Chili in center - Top grated cheese. Very tasty - and easy!

I found it hard to believe anything can taste this good out of a pouch and be ready in 30 seconds, I thought reviewers are just giving it high stars for quickness... but the taste of this potato mash blew my mind!

I made it using the stove top method - but you don't need a stove. Just put the powder out of the pouch into a bowl and pour in 2 cups of boiling water. Stir for about 30 seconds - comes out perfect. Overall, just a great, fast, 5 star dish.

Most of my cooking is done on the weekend. During the week I have to work, so I don't have much time for elaborate meals. These mashed potatoes are very easy to make and just plain yummy. I bring a packet to work and prepare it in the microwave. I eat half and the other half I store it in a zip lock bag in the refrigerator. These mashed potatoes are great with chicken, pork, etc. and a side of steamed vegetables. In just minutes I can have a relatively healthy and delicious lunch or dinner.

The reason most instant spuds taste like the boxes they come in is that they are just instant spuds, and not much else. They need milk, butter, and salt for you to choke them down.
This stuff has a lot of stuff that makes it tasty, sodium, MSG, bacon fat, etc, etc.
I figured I would make it, and use it as an ingredient in other foods so as to limit my exposure to the bad stuff.
It tastes so strongly of MSG that it almost burns my mouth-if you get 'hot dog headaches' this is not for you.
Probably OK for occasional use, but I canceled my subscription to this one because it's just too easy to make and it's prolly pretty bad for you to live on a diet of MSG, salt and bacon fat.
IF this product used more natural flavors like garlic and onion salts to minimize the bad stuff, I would prolly still get it.
MSG appears more than once on the ingredient label, and if you know where it 'hides' in other products like smoke flavors, various hydrolyzed vegetable proteins, the 'flavoring' agent in bacon, and other possible places -then you realize just how much MSG there really is in this product.

Love the mashed potatoes. So easy to make and I have added pepper as well as some margarine to enhance the flavor. However, we also like it as is. One packet is great for a meal for a couple. With toddlers (2) and 2 adults it's perfect too.

Although 'instant potatoes', they offer a great taste and absolutely no wasted product. My family actually prefers these to 'real' mashed potatoes.

I've found that it's actually cheaper to buy these types of products than to buy a sack of potatoes. No waste, no S&H on the 'subscribe & save' plans and they are delivered to my door!

Seriously, when I get home from work.. I don't really often want to spend an hour in the kitchen! These potatoes are good. They do have that loaded potato taste, of course, not the same texture and maybe the flavors not as bright as a just baked w/sour cream just oozing down into the potato..But! these can be put into your serving bowl, pour boiling water in and stir! Let sit a couple minutes and eat as a tasty side dish w/ no extra pans to wash. They do need some pepper though and you can get a deal by ordering through the subscribe + save feature.

These are delicious! I'm always looking for quick, easy things to make in my dorm and this little packet more than suffices. All you really need to do is heat up some water (I use my coffeemaker), pour the potatoes in a decent sized bowl and add a little water at a time until you reach the consistency you like. No microwave necessary, even though they only show microwave/stove directions on the packet.
The flavoring is good in my opinion, especially considering all you add is water. Does it taste exactly like a loaded mashed potato? Well, no, but its definitely delicious in its own right. I didn't have to add any salt or pepper. The serving is decent size, and can easily be split into two portions but I tend to eat the whole bowl alone for dinner when I have to stay in and study/do homework. For a little over a dollar each I would definitely recommend these for poor college students or someone in a fix for a quick, yummy side.

This isn't as good as real potatoes but it is better than any instant i have tried. The big win on this is no milk or butter just water.
