5.0 out of 5 stars Everything to love in a cookbook!
This cookbook has it all - the spiral binding that makes it lay flat so you can consult it while your hands are full; beautiful pictures of every recipe; nutritional information for those of us trying to eat more healthfully; an easy-to-use index! 3.0 out of 5 stars Pictures for every recipe!
The photography in this cookbook is lovely. It is always helpful when a cookbook includes pictures, especially since I am a beginner and am not always certain of what the finished dish should look like. The photos are a wonderful guide to the end result. For me, the photos were definitely the best best part.

This cookbook has it all - the spiral binding that makes it lay flat so you can consult it while your hands are full; beautiful pictures of every recipe; nutritional information for those of us trying to eat more healthfully; an easy-to-use index! The recipes really ARE simple, as the name implies; they don't ask for you to hunt down obscure ingredients, nor do they expect you to know how to perform professional chef miracles either. This is for the everyday cook, who doesn't have a ton of time to devote to cooking but who does love a good, healthy, easy meal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Motivating for a "non cook" like me!, February 21, 2008
This review is from: Betty Crocker Quick and Easy Cookbook: 30 minutes or less to dinner (Betty Crocker Books) (Spiral-bound)
A friend of mine had an older edition of this book at work, I paged through and liked everything I saw; however it was out of print. I purchased the current edition and am so glad I did! From pizzas to soups to seafood it has so many great recipes, and I like the ideas at the beginning of each chapter as well. They are easy without a lot of ingredients and fuss, perfect to stock the pantry and be ready for a quick (delicious!) meal after a long day.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy for sure, but maybe too simple, December 7, 2007

This is a good book for someone that really wants easy recipes that don't require too much work. The colorful pages and few ingredients make it a nice book to use. I would just say that's it a little to simple for me, I think this is a great book for someone with very little time who isn't an advanced cook. Great first cookbook!

I was looking for cookbooks that have pictures for almost EVERY recipe and this was one that I flipped through in a brick and mortar bookstore. I was even happier when I got the book. Great recipes, all are 30 minutes or less and actual recipes we'll eat with yup, you guessed it PICTURES! I don't know about you, but I am a visual person and want to see the cooked version in picture form for recipes. Now I have this. GREAT!

I borrowed this book from the library and so many of the recipes sounded so simple and tasty that I had to get it for myself.

1.0 out of 5 stars Too many shortcuts and processed ingredients, July 5, 2011
This review is from: Betty Crocker Quick and Easy Cookbook: 30 minutes or less to dinner (Betty Crocker Books) (Spiral-bound)
I once owned this book a couple of years ago, and I wasn't happy about processed ingredients. I know that this is a book for quick eating, but I don't like when cookbooks are reliant on processed foods. I threw it away.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pictures for every recipe!, May 30, 2011
This review is from: Betty Crocker Quick and Easy Cookbook: 30 minutes or less to dinner (Betty Crocker Books) (Spiral-bound)
The photography in this cookbook is lovely. It is always helpful when a cookbook includes pictures, especially since I am a beginner and am not always certain of what the finished dish should look like. The photos are a wonderful guide to the end result. For me, the photos were definitely the best best part.

This cookbook uses Bisquick, frozen pancakes, and refrigerator dough in several recipes, which makes the recipes faster, but I had been hoping to learn to make everything from scratch. Although cooking from scratch might be harder in just thirty minutes.

That said, plenty of the recipes use regular ingredients without the extra price tag for convenience items. My favorites were the Stove-Top Lasagna and the Marinara Shrimp and Vegetable Bowls.

This is certainly not a bad book by any means, but it is not quite what I was hoping for either.

5.0 out of 5 stars Invaluable!, November 18, 2010

The Betty Crocker Quick and Easy Cookbook is everything it promises: delicious meals that are easy to make (and tasty to boot!) in 30 minutes or less. There aren't any complicated recipes here, and the ingredients are easily found in your local grocery store. But the best thing about this book? It's the nutrition facts provided for every single recipe! I love being able to make meals and know about how many calories/fat/fiber I'm consuming in each serving.

The cookbook itself is organized in an easy-to-use manner and full of wonderful pictures of the finished meals. This is my go-to book when I'm at a loss for what to make for dinner, and it should be yours, too!

Note: My other favorite cookbook for fast and healthy meals is the Pillsbury Good for You!: Fast & Healthy Family Favorites!
