5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite cookbooks
I love this book! There are so many wonderful recipes. I turn to this cookbook when I can't decide what to make for dinner. The pictures are great, and there's one for each recipe. None of the recipes are more than 1 page long, and each lists the prep time and cook time. There's even fast & easy chicken ideas on the inside cover. One of my favorite recipes is the...

1.0 out of 5 stars This is simply not a cookbook
Using reading made sauces is not cooking. So when a book relies on this in most of its recipes, I don't see how it can be called a cookbook. If you have basic knowledge about cooking, don't waste your money

Now you can have chicken every single day. Every recipe you can think about is here. Plenty of pictures and detailed instructions. From salads to main dishes to side dishes... and what about left overs? you have sandwich recipes, and a lot more. Also includes quick meals (30 minutes or less), hamburger, pizza and soup recipes.
Besides you have the garantee that it is a Betty Crocker book, and all the recipes feature here had been tested over and over again. This is the book to have if you like chicken.

Maybe there are diffrent issues on the market (with the same ISBN Number). I have the First Edition from 1999 but a diffrent cover as your picture are showing and 304 pages.
But I LOVE THE BOOK !!!! The recipes are easy to following, no fancy ingridients and for weeks you can make different dishes.
I also love there are a picture for each recipe (a lot of cookbooks have none or only a few)in MY Cookbook. So you can see how it's looke like.
I can only reccomend this book !!!!!!!

As a wife and mother of three small children, I can't spend a lot of time in the kitchen; just too much else to do, so I appreciate these recipes: varied, simple, and TIME-SAVING! I also like that there are pics for each recipe so you can have an idea as to what the finished product should look like. (wink) So far everyone's favorite has been Chicken with Garlic Bread Crumbs (pgs 78 and 79), but I'm still having so much fun trying out the recipes! This cookbook is definitely worth every cent spent!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pictures of every recipe!, February 14, 2006

This review is from: Betty Crocker's Best Chicken Cookbook (Hardcover)
This is a great cookbook for chicken recipes. There is a large variety of recipes, from Asian to Mexican to Italian to Southern as well as sandwiches, soups, and stews. Most of the recipes are simple and many are quick. These are mostly made with ingredients that I buy at the grocery store on a regular basis, without a lot of hard to find or uncommon additions. That's especially nice considering the large variety of tastes and textures included.

Many of the recipes feature suggestions for side dishes as well, which is particularly helpful, and tips to make the cooking go easier and faster. The recipe instructions are rather brief, and for the inexperienced cook, they may find this a slight obstacle, but with the reference guide in the front, it would be impossible to not know what to do. The front of the book has a wonderful guide about storage, safety, and cooking techniques.

The best part about this book is that there is a glossy color picture of every recipe on the main pages (there are a few recipes inside the cover of the book that don't have pictures), which is great when flipping through the book to decide what to have for dinner. It's especially helpful for those that are more visually oriented and for whom it is difficult to get a picture and the taste of the recipe by just reading the words.

A very helpful chicken cooking guide!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Chicken Cookbook!, August 8, 2005
By
This review is from: Betty Crocker's Best Chicken Cookbook (Hardcover)
This cookbook is great! There are hundreds of simple, yet tasty, chicken recipes. We have tried several and love them all...and they are done in less than 30 minutes with minimal work. We especially love the Mexican Chicken Skillet...it is healthy and quick. We have tried several of the marinades and rubs as well, and no complaints so far! I highly recommend this cookbook if you love chicken, but need a new way to prepare it. Enjoy!

This cookbook is exceptional in terms of variety in recipes and full-page photos. I always prefer illustrated cookbooks...as it helps inspire me for meal planning. The format and layout are very clean and easy to read/understand. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a chicken-specific cookbook.

1.0 out of 5 stars What a joke to anyone who cooks, December 13, 2007
This review is from: Betty Crocker's Best Chicken Cookbook (Hardcover)
I just received this "cook"book and can't believe it's received 5 stars as a good cookbook. Apparently the people who purchased this cookbook think it's okay to throw in a can, package or any other premade, processed food to a recipe and consider that cooking. I don't. This "cook"book is a complete joke.

This book covers just about everything you can make using chicken. The index really only needs a "C" for what's inside the pages (for chicken!) because it has 'em all, very impressive. If you can only afford one book for cooking chicken dinners, sides, salads, etc., this is THE book to buy, hands down.
