This is just what I needed to cut my 4 year old son's hair without him crying and covered in hair. I wanted something soft, washable, and not pvc vinyl. This is perfect. And it fit around my husband's neck on the largest setting so I'm using it for both of them.

My son (3 years old) was anxious of getting his hair cut by Mommy for obvious reasons, but also he didn't like the hair falling on his arms and sticking to his skin. I found this cape and had to buy the cute penguin design. It's a great silky material, very easy to clean, and even fits around my neck (though a little snug). We've used it already and he initially didn't want it but I told him the alternative of hair on his skin. He got used to it and it's easier for me than cleaning all the nooks and crannies of his outfit. Great quality, great price! Get ready to save a LOT of money!

I have been giving my 2 boys home haircuts since they were little, but one of my sons always complains about hair on his neck. I had been using painting smocks to keep them clean, but the smocks were uncomfortable, and did not seal up around the neck sufficiently. I needed something designed for haircuts to keep the hair out of the kid's shirts. Adult smocks are just too big, so I found this smock on Amazon.com. It fits the need perfectly. It has multiple snaps in the collar so I can adjust the diameter to match my kid's neck. It adjusts small enough that I can even put it on my 2 year old and get a snug fit so that hair does not go down his shirt. There are enough snaps that I can also adjust it for my 5 year old, and it looks like I could use this for a few more years. The design is colorful and nice. My only complaint is that the hair does tend to stick to it, so I can't just shake it out--I need to throw it in the washing machine occasionally. Recommended buy for the home haircutter!
