Grade 5 Up Meltzer effectively covers the story of Betty Friedan's life, focusing on how she came to write The Feminine Mystique . Some of the simplifications are misleading, i.e., the implication that Carl Friedan courted Betty because he needed a place to live. Milton does stress throughout that Friedan has never been against men, but for equal rights for all people. There's some good information on how the National Organization for Women started and enough history for those seeking information on women's rights, but there is no index.
