Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

Calling herself a dedicated "closet writer," actress White, coauthor of Betty White's Pet Love, conveys an endearing zest for life, people and nature in short, ebullient commentaries on both serious and trivial topics that denote sensitivity and the ability to laugh at herself. An ardent animal lover, she actively solicits support for zoos and conservation from her show-business friends. This book of reflections is free of professional pettiness, and she asserts that the Golden Girls actresses are as friendly off camera as on, and so were the Mary Tyler Moore cast members with whom she worked. White's pet peeves encompass sloppy diction, bathroom humor and mirrored sunglasses, and she expresses strong dislike for the blatant sex and voyeurism on today's screens and for "people who wear grief like a mantle." Her reminiscences of her parents and of her former husband, Password host Allen Luddon, are fond. First serial to Redbook.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Story Will Truly Warm Your Heart, February 22, 2002
This review is from: Betty White (Hardcover)
I picked up this book, one night when i couldn't sleep. Hoping to be bored to tears so i could finally drift off. This is not what happened. I found myself staying up all night hanging on Betty's every word, absorbed in her life, and opinions. It provided an escape for a couple hours. I only wish it had been longer! This is one of my favorite books, and I would recomend it to anyone who likes to read. It is a very easy read, but a fantastic one. It may be hard to find because it is out of print, but i urge you to find it! It is a rare gem that people pass up all to often! They look at the cover, and see Betty White, then dismiss it as boring. But you will love it, THAT i can guarentee you. It will set your soul at ease for an hour or two. Just relax with some hot tea, in your favorite chair, and read it. You won't be sorry!
