Cal (Gold Coast, Australia) - See all my reviews
Cal here from the Goldy, Australia. Sunk Loto are possibly the most under-apprieciated band I can think of. Gotta tell ya.. I've heard, I've seen, I've had a few coldies with these guys and all that needs to be said is they are passionate, honest, talented and like all great muso's probably a little crazy. I'm tired of reading reviews that are nothing more than a comparison between artists.. I hold sunks talent right up there with the best of the best and personally as a muso myself would say they shred over a lot of bands that people often place them in the shadow of. Best of luck boys not that u'll need it if u keep progressing at the rate you have. Can't wait for the new albumn. I expect it to be nothing less then the best Metal Album ever to come out of Australia no doubt a sound that pushes the Metal envelope Worldwide! As for the review.. it sickens me that sunk even need one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not a kid, but listen up..., July 17, 2005
A Kid's Review
I'm actually 20, first off, I just don't have an account. Anyway, Between Birth And Death is a GREAT metal cd, from start to finish. There isn't a track on this album that I don't like. Some standout tracks however are 5 Years of Silence, Empty And Alone, Help, Starved and Public Imagery. Buy it. Buy it NOW.

Its feels kind of weird writing a review for a band that is from australia and me being from the U.S and all, but this is one of the best cds that ive had heard in years, from begging to end. If your into nu-metal and want to listen to a hard rocking band you should really check this guys out.

5.0 out of 5 stars best metal album of all time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, July 23, 2004
For any music listeners into bands similar to Metallica, Limp Bizkit, Pantera, Slipknot, Korn, Megadeth (u get the picture), every day you are alive without listening to this album is a day you have wasted.... I kid you not, this is the best album ever made!!! I am unsure why the 'matt'from sydney asks you to skip track 1, every song is an absolute winner... it is as heavy as pantera's vulgar display..., as catchy as metallica's black album, as complex in time signatures as tool's lateralus, and features some of the best rock drumming you will ever hear with monstrous double bass drumming that even vinnie paul would be proud of. The vocalist has a very unique tone and style to his voice but is not unlike a corey from a stone sour album with agressive screaming and intricate harmonies both present.
There are no real guitar solos but lots of nice melodies and chunky grooves not disimilar to stone temple pilots purple album', and is such a vast improvement from sunk loto's first album, it hardly sounds like the same band. Their next release is my most anticipated album I can think of!!

So if you like any of the artists above, spend any amount of money to import or order this cd and just be blown away.... if you play the drums, this is a must to be used as a teacher in the art of rock drumming, if you are just a rock, heavy rock, or metal fan, buy it ... love it ..... endorse it ..... and just wonder where you have been for the last 5 years!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST AUSTRALIAN METAL BAND, July 13, 2004
By
Matt (Sydney, NSW) - See all my reviews
I am kinda embarrassed being the first person to write a review for this album, however i am also proud to say thst this CD is worth your time and effort, some american people consider themselves higher than australian people with offends me but those people should consider buying this cd or downloading some of it's songs, although these guys are australian they do not use an australian voice in their songs, these guys are influenced by the likes of Metallica and Pantera, who are ledgends in metal music, there is no lack of emotion or musical talent in these guys, they're no korn or mudvayne but these guys are an exceptional metal band at that, please if you ever get the opportunity, give these guys a try(note: if u get the cd skip the first track) Peace.
