Considering that the male part of this extraordinary wife/husband team Sean Beavan has worked with the likes of Slayer and Marilyn Manson one could expect an unbearbly heavy and gloomy affair. Fortunately that is not the case at all.

Instead we got some almost classic rock with more than a hint of Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty and the mighty Led Zep. Combining strong songwrting, a 'picture perfect'production (done in their own home studio) and some highly accomplished musicianship. That rhythm section is almost frightening tight and inventive. And there is a subtle and effective use of electronics to give a more contemporary spin.

The female part Juliette Beavan is an excellent and versatile vocalist. Raw and primal sensuality in one track and on the next she shows some Aimee Mann-like sensitivity. While Sean is a highly diverse guitarist, slide, soloes, multilaying. Combining pop-sensibilty and avantgardism. Almost like an underground Lindsay Buckingham.

This is the stuff legends are made of.

One of the early pioneers to embrace DIY and the internet, 8MM continue that spirit with the self-release of their breakthrough album, "Between The Devil & Two Black Hearts". Described as "Massive Attack meets Fleetwood Mac's "Rumors" and Led Zepplin at a rave with Johnny and June Cash", the just-released album is already attracting vigorous critical acclaim:

"...an entirely new formula is born ... a fusion of trip-hop and Americana...with this evolutionary leap, 8MM deserves our (and your) undivided attention." Antiquiet

"There are a lot of awesome DIY artists out there, but only a choice few can bring this kind of raw power and sexual energy to a full spectrum of genres and styles." FearNet

" 8MM is definitely making guitars sound sexy again. That's something that has been missing from music for some time." News Register

Championed by some of the industry's leading tastemakers, such as Nic Harcourt of KCRW and Kevin Bronson, and named as one of the Bands You Need To Know in Alternative Press and a "Buzz Band" by the Los Angeles Times, 8MM's music has been featured on Grey's Anatomy, One Tree Hill, Nip Tuck and the Underworld:Awakening and Mr. And Mrs. Smith soundtracks, amongst many others. Co-founder, Sean Beavan's credits as a much-sought out producer/mixer include Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, No Doubt, Slayer, Thrice and Depeche Mode.

An edgy mix of pop with hints of a little bit of twang. If your looking for the next rotation in your mp3 player this is it.
