Another masterpiece from a missed genius., February 18, 2006
This review is from: In Between Jobs (Audio CD)
As you guys may have heard, UK Soul's original, Lynden David Hall, died on 14th Februrary 2006 after a long battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. 'In Between Jobs' was the last album he released.
And Hall does it again, producing an album almost as masterful and eclectic as 'Medicine 4 My Pain' and more consistent as 'The Other Side.' It seems that he wanted to unleash his last ounce of creative energy into this album, and it shows.
From the brilliant opening track, the Curtis Mayfield-esque 'Don't Hide Your Heart' to the early Prince-inspired 'Day Off', to the Stevie Wonder-style funk/soul of 'Stay Faithful' Hall isn't here to sound like the likes of Lemar or Craig David as he has been doing that way before them. Even more of a bonus, his songwritng improves with each album. The title track, 'Pimps, Playas and Hustlers', 'Memories and Souvenirs' and 'Blessings' shows a maturity in his songwriting which is close to maximum fulfillment which unfortunately will never be.
So do yourself a favour and not only purchase this great album, but his other two albums as well to help live the memory of this incredible genius. RIP Lynden David Hall.

Your music touched a lot of people. I emplore everyone who is a fan of quality soul music from artistes such as Van Hunt, D'angelo, Raheem DeVaughn or even Eric Roberson to check out all 3 albums by this musical genius named Lynden David Hall. I promise that you won't be dissapointed. RIP

A truely remarkable artist who will be sorely missed, February 18, 2006
This review is from: In Between Jobs (Audio CD)
An artist whos music touched alot of people, and who was never really given the recognision he truely deserved, nut for those who knew of him there can be no doubt that Lynden was not only an amazing singer, but also writer and producer. He was one of only a handful of British artist who could really compete with the Americans, and with more publicity he could without a doubt have become one of not only Britains best soul/R&B artists but the worlds. RIP Lynden. You'll be sorely missed, but never forgotten.
