Editorial Reviews

In The Ram in the Pepper Patch, a girl from Mexico tries everything to stop a ram from eating all her peppers—until a tiny bee flies in to save the day. But run for cover: the ram escapes from his book and begins butting around the library on a rambunctious rampage! Plus Theo and Cleo find out "What’s Cooking?," The Fonix sing "The ‘AR’ Song," people sing about short A names like Mia Hamm, and much more! Starring the short "A" sound.

Featuring the Vowelles, The Great Smartini, Dr. Ruth Wordheimer, Cliff Hanger, Gawain's Word and more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Learning To Read Is Fun!, September 21, 2001
This review is from: Between the Lions - Ram in the Pepper Patch [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Well produced, fun and lively, this video combines puppets, animation and live action to bring the world of books to life. It is a great tool for beginning readers. "The producers have gone all out on making a well designed educational video." Children sang along with the songs and sounded out words aloud with the tape. "I liked the people reading to me and I could see the words." "It makes learning to read fun, like a game." "I want to go to the library." Best for ages 2 to 5.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant -- Buy It!, May 1, 2001

I heartily recommend this video. My three year old is now starting to sound out words and happily singing the songs featured in this video. Plus it has appeal to "older" kids as well (I've seen a 7 year old watching with interest). Great story and very effective in teaching the kids something that can be pretty confusing. I will be buying all of these videos :)

5.0 out of 5 stars So Much Fun with "The Ram in the Pepper Patch", July 15, 2005
This review is from: Between the Lions - Ram in the Pepper Patch [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Small children are not particular about what they watch... so why don't you be. I mean, why not educate your child while entertaining them!

We love BTL (and Magic School Bus) and watch the shows all the time; either on TV or on VHS.

My children (3 and 5; boy and girl) like them because of the fun characters and silliness. I like them because it is these shows are not just dribble.

And they seem to work. My just turned 5 year-old spells pretty darn well, and can read beginning primers.

"The Ram in the Pepper Patch" is my daughters favorite video (my son prefers "The Popcorn Popper" which is not currently available).

Five Stars. Top notch edu-tainment.
