Paredes was about in his twenties when he began writing the poems seen in this book. He comes across as if he is trying too hard! And the title, who was suggested by someone else should not have been used because it isn't just about being "between two worlds" unless you take it for face value in the fact he writes his poems in both spanish and english. I felt like Americo came across as a struggling poet who did not know how to structure his poems and played with too many different ideas. He has better books, this one I would not reccomend unfortunately.
