Editorial Reviews

Review

“To publish a second edition of a book does not simply mean an editorial success . . . but also, and most important, that the foundations and underlying philosophy of the book have caused a considerable influence on its readers.”–TESL-EJ --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars Important Issues for Any Teacher, February 5, 2006
By
Rebecca (Illinois/Iowa/Arizona, USA) - See all my reviews
I am using Between Worlds in a Literacy Methods for Elementary Teachers class. Although my class is not geared toward teaching English Language Learners, we are using this book under the premise that what is helpful for English Language Learners is also helpful for native English speakers. The book is clearly written and full of both theory and anecdotes. This is much more helpful than if it were to only contain only theory or only anecdotes. The authors use their own experiences as well as experiences from their graduate students to make this book feel relevant to any teacher or perspective teacher.
