5.0 out of 5 stars Enchanting, October 9, 2003

(REAL NAME)
As Halloween rolls around again, Paige is very much into the holiday spirit. Dressing up as what people think a witch looks like, and handing out candy. But this year, Samhain, a Wiccan celebration, brings along destruction of the city of San Francisco. Buildings throughout San Francisco are actually melting, and, upon further investigation, the Charmed Ones soon figure out that the buildings being melted are actually dimensional portals, that someone is trying to open up. Paige, Piper, and Phoebe now have to secure these barriers, in order to save the world as we know it. But there's a problem, the demon working against them isn't actually a demon. It's a wraith, which was the product of a grief-stricken young witch, looking to bring her dead fiance back from the dead.

This is the first CHARMED book in which I have read, and I am not at all disappointed. The books cover more than the TV show, which is a nice addition, and Weiss and Wilson wrote in such a believable way, that you actually feel like you're there with the Charmed Ones. A great book for teens, or fans of CHARMED, especially around All Hallows' Eve, a.k.a. Halloween.

A few nights before Halloween a women casts a spell to restore a riven heart, to bring back her dead fiance back from the dead. The Charmed Ones must find out what's behind the mystryious melting building. Includeing P3. They find the person who casts the spell and also a very evil book. The De Vermis Mysrtriss. Piper Phobe and Paige have only one chance to vanquish the evil and save their innocent. And, with Leo and Cole not around when it's time for them to vanquish the evil what are they going to do?

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Charmed-esque Enough, December 29, 2005
From what I read, Bobbi JG Weiss and Jacklyn Wilson are great writers. The plotline, interesting tidbits of information and way in which they use rhetorical devices are wonderful, the narration is rich and detailed (maybe a bit too detailed at times), the various jokes and wordplay included for the most part was great fun, but the novel itself is not very true to Charmed. I do have in mind that this book is just `based' on the show and not an exact follow-up, but, seriously, I couldn't get over the fact that they seem to overlook Paige's power to orb! Also, some of the lines made it look like they just put them there to give each person a line and not because the character would actually say it. All in all, it's a good read, but there are better.
