5.0 out of 5 stars First you don't see them ; then you do! !, November 5, 2003
This review is from: Bev Doolittle: New Magic (Hardcover)
Finally getting around to writing a review on Bev Doolittle's books; this one and and her other book from 1990,"The Art of Bev Dolittle".Two of my major intrests are Birding(and Nature) and virtually any kind of puzzle (Optical Illusion,Mazes,Take Apart,Rubik's,Mathematical Puzzles, etc.)I also am fascinated with the West and have spent time in New Mexico,Arizona and California;birding and travelling. The Wild West, Cowboys and Indian cultures all intrest me,provide me with many books for reading, photos and art.
So,you would think Sue's work would be right down my alley--you bet;it is!
She creates images that astound me.They are not just simple hidden pictures but also have great mood.,feeling and inspiration. She has that uncanny ability to create an image that you can grasp in an instant as well as study for a long time.Other artists do this;but none do it better.
I look for her work in every art store I see and hopefully we'll see another book soon.
In the meantime I must get to work an the 750 piece Jigsaw puzzle of "Many Eagles"(pg.41) I recently bought.
Now there's an Indian,Nature,Western Bird,Hidden Image ,Inspirational PUZZLE for you.
Thanks,Bev

5.0 out of 5 stars About the Collector's Edition, September 2, 2011
The limited edition of Bev Doolittle's New Magic is a cloth-bound, slipcased edition released by the Greenwich Workshop in 1995.

There's a special page with the artist's statement and a facsimile signature. A loose collector's "print" was included in some of these editions. The same quality as a page out of the book, this is more of a novelty than an actual art print.

This is an extra-thick, sturdy binding and slipcase which has a pleasantly "chunky" feel to it. Book and slipcase are covered in a forest green soft cloth which has a faux-linen weave.

Your Art work is exquisite. We only have 4 of your paintings but My parents Mary and Mike Pfau have many more and got us started after we first saw your work at there home in Colo. We absolutely love our Bev Doolittle paintings and have a great time showing them off to our friends. Thank you so much for gracing us with your abilities. As always we are looking forward to your next painting or book. Please take care and God Bless You and Your Family. Les and Denise Livingston
