5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended!
This CD is really two items in one. When played on your CD player (or my DVD player) you get to listen to three great Weezer tunes - Beverly Hills, and live versions of Island in the Sun and Butterfly. Beverly Hills is a tune my fourteen-year-old daughter and I both agree on, it's great. I also loved Butterfly. I've not heard it on the radio, but it is also a great tune...

1.0 out of 5 stars This isn't Weezer, this just plain blows.
Ok, weezer used to be what would one day become a perfect example of a mid 90's rock band that could have started a revoltuion if they had stuck to their roots, but on the other hand they have gone the way of crappy bands with no talent such as good charlotte, this song is so god awful, it sounds as bad as something the corperate execs would tell good charlotte to write,...

Next, when you pop this disc into your computer, it's got a QuickTime movie of the video of Beverly Hills, with the boys of Weezer performing at Hugh Hefner's Playboy mansion. On the downside, I could not figure out how to listen to the three tracks listed above on my computer, just the video. That kind of stinks.

Anyway, my daughter is glad to have this disc, and I am glad as well. We both highly recommend this disc to you!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great single, but even better b sides, May 16, 2005
By
This review is from: Beverly Hills (Audio CD)
It would get more of a 4.5/5
The first single for make believe is well written and has a wonderful chorus. I would give this song more like a 4.5/5. After beverly hills comes is what i think is the best performance of island in the sun. even better than than the live song on the lion and the witch ep. I would give the live b side a 5/5. it's simply the highlight of the single. Then comes Butterfly live, the song has a very cool intro with Rivers Cuomo talking. This song is also a very good performance given by weezer. I'd give it a 4.5/5. And for the enhanced bonus video comes beverly hills. Personally I love this video and it would rank with such classic videos such as Buddy Holly and Keep Fishin. The video would get a 5/5. Overall, this single is great and I think you will enjoy the great feautures of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gotta Love This Single, May 19, 2005
This review is from: Beverly Hills (Audio CD)
Beverly Hills is a great single, which totally makes this worth buying. Not only is Beverly Hills a great song, but the two live tracks (Island In The Sun and Butterfly) are sweet as well. They are quite a bit different from the album versions and are truly "must-have's" for any weezer fan. If you are looking at getting this single I would also be sure to check out their album "Make Believe". It's got more of that great Beverly Hills action, and (in this writer's opinion) has some songs that are even better! Be sure to check it out cause weezer is back, and better than ever!

4.0 out of 5 stars Geek Rock, October 26, 2005
This review is from: Beverly Hills (Audio CD)
There haven't really been many acts these past few years that really have been more about image than the feeling or uniqueness of great pop music. One of the most surprising acts these past few years is definitely Weezer. They have really brought up a great deal with the feel of geek rock, and their latest single really does connect with everybody. Their latest track Beverly Hills is a great pop song. It is very upbeat and easily catchy. I like this song because it is very different and very vivid. Rivers Cuomo and company have really got a lot into good music right now. Hopefully, they can keep it up with their next single.

Song: B 1/2+

5.0 out of 5 stars fun, catchy, feel good song, July 24, 2005
This review is from: Beverly Hills (Audio CD)
I've never been a fan of weezer, or really cared for there music, but when I heard "Beverly Hills", I liked the song, and I didn't even know it was them until someone told me. I know weezer is mostly known for there alternative rock, but this song has more of a pop, rock mix to it, which I think is catchy, and I think it's neat how they decided to do something a little different with there music this time. Overall, good brand new single for a band that came back on to the scene.

4.0 out of 5 stars Get Weezer, March 8, 2006
By
This review is from: Beverly Hills (Audio CD)
I've been listening to Weezer and loved them since they first came out. I was a bit dissappointed when I heard the first single "Beverly Hills" off their new album until it was made blatantly clear (by listening to the lyrics and reading a number of Cuomo's interviews) that the song is a satire for how Cuomo has always felt he doesn't fit in with the Hollywood crowd. I guess you have to be a long time Weezer fan to understand something of the guy. They definetely have not sold out.

I gave it four stars because of "butterfly," that's my least favorite Weezer song and it was not improved in this CD.
"Island In the Sun" it's a lot of fun and sounds great live. It's worth the purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars the best song by weezer, May 10, 2005
This review is from: Beverly Hills (Audio CD)
i don't know what the other reviewers are talking about. obviously they don't like weezer, so i don't know why they're even reviewing this cd.
but anyway, this song is a little different from weezer's usual stuff. but i really really recommend you at least watch the music video if you aren't planning on buying this cd.

I still love pinkerton and blue, but this sucks, sucks... don't give in to this crap along with all the other 13 year old trl watchers...

5.0 out of 5 stars Weezer's done it again!, May 4, 2005
This review is from: Beverly Hills (Audio CD)
I'll admit, Beverly Hills isn't the greatest of songs, but it makes the perfect first single to get the band up and running again after almost three years of silence. Currently gathering support on MTV, iTunes, and other music locales, Beverly Hills will be this summer's teen anthem.
