5.0 out of 5 stars Great Song
First of all this is not an Arabic Song. The song is Punjabi, a language native to state of Punjab in India. Punjabi MC has been producing hot tracks for a while now. The original Mundian To Bach Ke Rahi has been out for a while now and the Jay-z remix has brought it into America. Tight Beat, Tight lyrics. Hot! Bhangra song

2.0 out of 5 stars Beware the Remix
I have been a longtime fan of Punjabi MC and so i was enthusiastic to hear the Jay-Z mix of this great song.... and i hated it. The music seemed to have been slowed down to accomodate the rap lyrics, thus distorting the origninal flavor of the song. My advice is, listen to the original mix first, then get the rap remix only if you dont mind shelling out the extra bucks to...

5.0 out of 5 stars ....., June 22, 2003

I am a Syrian guy who happens to be a rapper. Although Punjabi MC is Indian, it has that Arabic/middle-eastern feel to it. Then you put one of the best rappers on it too? I'll say this song is nothing less than amazing. Jay-Z is expanding his horizon and not just sticking to the same sh*t that most rappers do, and I respect him for that. This song is off the hook and all I can say is just get it, someway, somehow.

5.0 out of 5 stars Off The Chain, May 4, 2003

This probally has to be the hottest Jay-Z track that has been dropped since the realease of both The Gift and the Curse and part 2.1. In addition to the hott bonus tracks "stop" and "excuse me miss again" i don't see why this couldn't me added either! This joint has a phenomenal beat....i love it, this is gonna be the #1 song all over clubs and parties all summer long. I give 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars off da hook, July 17, 2003

sup everyone. like everyone else here, i gotta agree this song is real tight. the beat is nice, and the sampling of Knight Rider was awesome -- brings back memories from when i a was a kid.

Then, combine the fact that Jay-Z was, like many rappers are doing, experimenting with cross-cultural music (only much better this time), i think this is a sure winner.

Whether you understand the lyrics or not, you must appreciate the song for the beats and creativity.

Much props to Jay-Z for incorporating some Bhangra sounds into this, and really for giving Punjabi MC room to flow on it, without hogging up the space - because the song was actually already made by Punjabi MC, and Jay-Z just wanted to take some rights to it. I read he had heard it in a club in Italy, where it is #1.

We want more Bhangra + rap! Maybe more bhangra beats with English lyrics tho!

peace

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as "Mundayan to Buch ke", July 10, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Beware of the Boys (Audio CD)
This a great song and all; however, I feel that original version of it (Mundayan to Buch ke) is much tighter. Jayz doesn't do much on this track, something like a 40 second "diss JaRule" rhyme, he could have done more. If you liked this track you should check out some other phat beats and scratches from Panjabi MC (the Backstabber mix with Daz Dillinger is off the hook). Jai Hind.

I'm starting to wish I had known about Punjabi MC earlier. The song is pretty amazing, the Indian beat is top notch. The song is quite good. The Jay-Z remix can be a bit unnecessary, but J-HOVA does a good job of spicing up a great rap track.

5.0 out of 5 stars Indian Music (Bhangra) crosses over, April 25, 2003

The Punjabi MC song "Mundayan tu Back ke / Beware of the Boys" has been on the top of the charts all over Europe, hitting #1 in Italy for weeks. And now JayZee brings it over to the USA with his awesome additions. This is the BEST.
For songs similiar to these search for Bhangra music from India.
