Bow Wow ~ Beware Of Dog

Customer Reviews

This CD is a classic Bow Wow CD.

He's just talking, like all rappers do, but the thing that seperates him from most rappers is 1.

I was suprised by this cd. I didn't expect anything else to be as good as bounce...but I was wrong. Jd did again with this one. The difference between him and kris Kross when they first came out is that he dosen't come with anything like backwards clothes or nothing....he just flows on every song. For only 13 years old he is off to a good start. What else is good here?
The Future-- Bow wow and Roc flow on this song. It has a tight futuristic, intro type beat with lil bow wow leting you know who's gonna be the future of rap. good song.
This Playboy---Bow Wow leeting you know his skills with the ladies. he dosen't try to be grown up all the way by letting you know he still got respect for them and he's not ready. JD does some ad libs but the song is good...tight beat.
Bow Wow(Thats my name)---The best track on the album. I played this 20 times beofre I moved on. Snoop and Bow wow did good on this. The beat alone is tight.
Bounce with me remix---I didn't think it was possible to make this better but it is. LIl Mo kinda makes the song faster with more soul and R.O.C. helps to keep it tight. he's another rapper to watch out for from so so def.
Overall thats the best tracks on this album. everything else is good but I think these tracks stand out the most. If you are looking for a tight rap cd thats not full of filler....look no further. U will be suprised how good this is.
Gte it!

This kid has talent....I especially like the song "Bounce with me" ....when I first heard it I couldn't believe that it was just a kid, I even saw the music video. This CD will leave you impressed that such a young kid has such talent, I recommend it if you like rap, he kind of has the Snoop Dogg style (since that is who got him into the music business), so if you like Snoop Dogg you will probably like Lil Bow Wow...

Every year I get a few letters from needy children sent to "Santa" and I answer them with one gift. I just wanted to say that the one thing a 9 year girl asked santa for was this CD. I wasn't sure what it was so I did some research to see if it was appropriate and I think this little guy has some real talent. HIs songs are fun and clean and all the young girls seem to think he is really "fine"

Ok, this cd is bloody appauling. I thought it would be good becuase he's Snoop Doggs nephew. But I was WRONG. A lot of the tracks use the same lyrics as Snoop does which is stupid. He's ten or something around that age and he raps about how hes a gangster. Don't think so. If you want some good hip hop go for A Tribe Called Quest.

This has got to be one of the dumbest CDs I've ever heard. Since when did it become cool for a 12 year old to act like a thug just to be 'hip' and rap about girls before even reaching puberty? The music is nothing but dry unlistenable splotches of sound with little effort thrown in. Don't buy this garbage! End of story!

Hey, I'm wondering why all these stupid bling bling rappers have the "Lil'" stupid thing in their names. Well, I have come up with a solution. Why don't Lil' Kim,Lil' Romeo,Lil' Bow Wow,Lil' Wayne, and Lil' Zane form a group called, "Lil' Everything." I mean, Lil' Bow Wow cant rap much better than California Steve (my friends will know who I'm talknig about),a bum in my town. How many licks?0 that's how many.Lil' Wayne, Lil' Zane? What's the diff?Lil' Romeo? Michael Jackson? Same Thing. They could use Minime. I'm Out.

Little kid tries to use big boy style and be a ladies' man...somehow this just doesn't work for me. Mainly I'm annoyed by Bow-Wow, but the thing I actually DISAGREE with in his rapping is the money- and ego-centric message that is present in almost every song. I get tired of hearing the Hot Boyz and other rappers talking constantly about how 'fly' they are and how much damn cash they have. Go spend your money on some meaningful rap or hip-hop that actually carries some emotional weight. I'd recommend some of the older Wu-Tang Clan (Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers), most Bone Thugz, definetly Deltron 3030, and, highest of all, ANY material by The Roots. These artists have some central messages about the way the world works and the many injustices that are done to various ethnic/racial groups that deserve to be heard. Once again, this MUSIC is a world apart from "I got a big f-ing gold-ice chain," and "I got a fat wad 'o Benjamins." So, if you're a wannabe thug and are going to buy this album despite my review, DON'T. Just get the music off ...for free so that he does not receive any profit for his work. Maybe he'll eventually run out of "cash-money" to ramble about(!)...

I first heard about Lil' Bow Wow on Nickelodeon, but I paid no attention. Recently, I've been listening to his work, and I'm left with a funny taste in my mouth...
The first thing you will notice about Lil' Bow Wow's music is that the lyrics are reflective of his stage in life. He's half boy, half man. In some songs (Puppy Love, The Dogg in Me) we see his growing maturity, in others (What's My Name?, The Future, Ghetto Girls) we see childish arrogance, which only adds to my believing that he's still nothing more than a child.
The biggest problem I have with the disc is the way he thinks he's something he's not. The kid is 14 years old. He's in Junior High, how could he possibly be a "player"? "Sure son. You can go out with your gang as soon as you finish your homework and do the dishes". He's a gangster in training. That's being generous. With appearances by stronger hip-hop artist (Da Brat, Snoop Dogg, etc...), it's obvious that he really is trying to be a rapper, but he's not succeeding. His rhymes are not pieced together well enough to be on par with a Snoop Dogg song or a Dre song.
The music itself isn't that great either. There's two or three original beats, but the rest sound as if they were all cut from the same yard of fabric.
But the biggest flaw of the album is his lyrics. They suck. That's the only way to put it. Mainly because they're all centered around one of two things:
1.) How fly he(thinks)is.
2.) Girls (although I'll give him credit for "Puppy Love")
The first is the main problem child. He's either talking about things he knows nothing about ("I'm the flyest thing around/ Riding on dubs") or how great he is ("I've been seen with the best/Make way for Bow Wow"). It's EXTREMELY annoying.
Radio edit doesn't mean squatt.
