Fun little book!
I received this book as a gift years ago, and it's something I dig out of my bookcase about once a year to giggle at. What makes this book is the style of art - I am not sure what it's called but I think it's like old fashioned "newspaper drawing" style from before they had photography in the newspapers. This is especially recommended for kids...

There is an antiquated viewpoint to all of these amalgams but that's because of the date they were created. Some combination's like the "Shutterbutt" (half sheep/half camera) would be confusing to modern viewers unless they're a camera buff like I am but the images are all interesting and funny. Pre-photoshop images are actually pretty good.

What makes this book is the style of art - I am not sure what it's called but I think it's like old fashioned "newspaper drawing" style from before they had photography in the newspapers. This is especially recommended for kids who enjoy/notice art and have a sense of humor. This book may have gotten me started on drawing morphed animals, and when I draw that kind of stuff for kids, they love it. Highly recommended! |
