Cute, but Hero is a Tease,

Clare is the mother of Tim, a 7-year-old virtuoso on the violin. Her mother-in-law enters Tim in a competition and he garners the attention of David Deverenko, a studly maestro who wants Tim to attend his boarding/music school. Clare, realizing Tim still suffers from the death of his father, does not believe he's ready to be separated from her.
When Clare and Tim return to the New Zealand holiday lodge where she works, David shows up with his teenaged daughter, who's a pill. Actually, she's funny in the outrageous things she says to Clare in order to ensure her Dad won't make another romantic conquest. Funny in the situations Clare gets into. Her first meeting with David is one of those "Oh my gosh, can we start over?" moments. She gives him a merry chase, not falling prey to his Russian charm or genuflecting in her dealings with the maestro. And close to the end when Clare blows up, precipitating David's "we need to be alone" maneuver, she really lets loose. But the hero calls a halt not once but twice as he and Clare are making out. So that's why I refer to him as "a tease." Good story, but not as good as her "Counterfeit Secretary" or "Secret Admirer."
