Deep rich sound!
Cash A. Echevarria
These phones have a very good sound, great bass, very smooth frequency response and with very low distortion.
Valter M. Hilden
They sound much fuller with my MacBook, iPods, etc than the Beyerdynamic 250 ohm DT 880 Pro that I returned.

I am blown away by these. Very balanced sound and very little sound leakage. They sound much fuller with my MacBook, iPods, etc than the Beyerdynamic 250 ohm DT 880 Pro that I returned. It was a great headphone but it wasn't well matched to portable electronics. I owned other Beyerdynamic and Ultrasone headphones in the past that were very good. The T70P is better (at least for my usage with portable devices). I briefly tried the new Beats Executive. They are probably one of the best look set of headphones and the build quality is great, but they hissed and the bass was overemphasized. One other thing, the DT 880s are well made, but I noticed that the fit and finish on the T70 P is nicer and more refined looking. It also comes in a leather bag. It was missing the airplane adapter, but I don't know if I would ever use one anyway.

I listen to pop, heavy metal, country, classic rock, blues, jazz, classical and wind ensemble music. It sounds fantastic with all of the above. I was concerned about the bass based upon some reviews that I read. The bass is great on my pair.

I rarely write a review, but I had to share my excitement on these.

I have had the Beyerdynamic T5P since April, and developed some static in the cable; contacted Beyer and they will replace them. I travel every week; 4-6 flights per week; and my Beyer's are that tranquil place, where I can listen to my music, without compromise. Sure they don't completely block a jet engine; but enough to make the trip enjoyable and the music easy to listen to. While the T5Ps are being replaced; I thought let me try a less expensive alternative; but great quality, as a back-up. And since selling all my other closed can's, I needed a back-up phone for when I travel with my wife. I recently tried the Monster beats pro, limited and the Sony MDR Z1000. The sony's were good, compact, durable looking, but had recessed upper mids and Treble; compared to my T5s. The Monsters were actually quite good. Anyone using them, they are no slouch. Clean, deep, good separation, decent soundstage, but a tight fit and heavy; good and bad. Enter the T 70P. Received the T70p today. Clean, deep, decent soundstage, properly presented Treble, Mids and Lows, forward with incredible clarity. Frankly real close to the T5's in quality, at less than ½ the price. I agree with a very fine review of the T70ps by Drew of moon Audio, on Head-Fi.org. He said he would own both; and I agree.
Comfort= You'll forget they are there!
Durability = a mix of metal and high end plastic, appear to be very durable.
The Headphone cable; seems to be thicker and nice strain relief, as compared to T5s.
Isolation= will reduce the Jet engine to a low roar; but otherwise you'll have solitude. Will hear a toilet flush standing next to it, but little else.
Portability= They don't fold, but neither do the T5s; but the case for the T70s is big, with big foam!

I've had this headphones for about 3 weeks now and really enjoyed the sound coming out of them... I'm not going into the technical details, Hertz and decibels as this information is perfectly covered by the professional reviewers... so I'll just say that the sound is great for the wide range of music styles when attached to a laptop or an "i" device.

But at the same time the comfort is just not there... I have kind of a big head, not really huge, but big in proportions to the rest of the body, something similar to that guy that is shown on the pictures on the official website. I actually think that his eyes were closed from the pain... :) Anyway, with that head of mine I feel the pressure from the headphones all the time. In some cases it would even hurt to have them on for long time (20-40 minutes) so I have to take them off... I tried to stretch the band and even pulled it to the position when it was almost bending backwards, but it looks like they are designed to be tough and durable (which is supposed to be good) so that exercise didn't help... Now I'm keeping it stretched on the carrying case overnight to see if it's going ease up after some time... I really hope so... It got better just a little bit and sometimes I have them on for about an hour and the head gets used to the pressure and in those moments I notice for myself that I just enjoy the music and don't feel or pay attention to the headphones themselves. The cups have big diameter so they cover big area on each side of the head and with the pressure from the band the cups cut through areas of the scull with different surface levels so the pressure is not evenly distributed but hurts the parts that stick out the most.

I, previously had access to DT 889-600 and 990-600. The 880s were comfortable but clamping force was slightly more than the other two. Sound was spacious and very enjoyable. The 990s had great sound as well. I was impressed with the build quality of all three headphones. All are manufactured in Germany of very fine materials. Only wish they made the cable detachable and replaceable. I received the T 70 Tesla headphone today. This is an initial impression. They are much easier to drive with my Valhalla tube headphone amp. The bass was clean and the mids and highs were more refined and natural than the other two. I auditioned them with opera, which I love. High violins and voice clarify the sound of any piece of high fi equipment better most than other things. Piano sound in a Beethoven concerto was excellent as well. If you can get a great price on these otherwise very expensive headphones, as I did, go for it Very, very highly recommended. By the way, I like the T 70 better than my excellent AKG 712, which were expensive.
