The M 58's weight-balanced design provides journalists with a high degree of comfort during lenghty interviews. Its rugged construction enables the microphone to withstand physical and environmental punishment typically encountered during field production operations. The M 58's slim profile and non-glare Nextel finish result in a low profile on camera

Great ENG mic for the price,
By
This review is from: Beyerdynamic M 58 Dynamic Omnidirectional ENG/EFP Microphone
This mic looks and feels good. The sound actually is "warmer" than others, a real plus, and it is still running after being dropped on hard floors several times. It is Omni directional so I get all then parties involved so I adjust my gain to suit the interviewer. I would recommend this mike to anyone looking in the under $500 class of dynamic ENG mics. The windscreen it comes with is good. The case it comes with is just a simple zip vinyl bag, it's a rugged mic.Ironically it's code Number is M58, and it certainly lives up to the Shure build quality and exceeds the performance of the 58 for ENG.
